Gu Gang Meets with Representatives from Plug and Play China and Overseas Enterprises and Attends the Signing Ceremony
On April 13, Gu Gang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Mayor of Changchun, met with Xu Jieping, Executive Director and CEO of Plug and Play China, along with Renata Redondo Bonardi, Founder of SleepUp; Saba Aghajani Pedram, Founder of Artifex AI; Endri Daskali, Founder and CEO of Insect Intel; and Valentina Di Franco, Co-founder of Ventuno.
During the meeting, the two sides had extensive discussions on building high-level technological innovation platforms and deepening the integration of industry, academia, and research. Mayor Gu briefly outlined Changchun's industrial base, innovation strengths, business environment, and policy advantages. He expressed the hope that Plug and Play China and the entrepreneurs would fully leverage their expertise to support the commercialization of research outcomes in Changchun, effectively connecting advanced technologies with the market; attract quality capital and top-tier talent to help local enterprises upgrade and transform; and promote Changchun's high-quality companies and technologies globally, integrating them into international supply and value chains. Together, he said, they could create a benchmark for cross-border tech innovation cooperation. For its part, Changchun will provide premium services to facilitate the transformation of technological achievements, the growth of innovative enterprises, and the implementation of cooperation projects in the city.
Xu Jieping and the overseas representatives spoke highly of Changchun's development potential and prospects for cooperation. They expressed their commitment to leveraging their global networks, resource integration capabilities, and industrial operation expertise to take an active part in Changchun's technological innovation and industrial upgrading. Their focus areas include industrial innovation and supply chain integration, particularly in embodied intelligent robotics, advanced materials, optoelectronics, and sports technology. They aim to facilitate the introduction of high-end projects and cutting-edge technologies, assist in promoting Changchun internationally, and contribute to the city's high-quality development.
After the meeting, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Changchun New Area Industrial Park Operation and Management Co., Ltd., and Plug and Play China jointly signed the "Cooperation Agreement on the Plug and Play (Changchun) International Science and Technology Industry Collaborative Innovation Platform Project."
During their stay in Changchun, the representatives from Plug and Play China and the overseas companies also attended the "Changchun Leaps Forward Globally, Advances Toward Innovation" International Cooperation and Exchange Conference on Technological Innovation for Changchun's Modern Metropolis Area. They delivered project roadshows and held key matchmaking sessions focused on smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and green sustainability. In addition, they visited the Changbai Mountain Laboratory at Jilin University, Chang Guang Satellite, Ouya Group, and Sky City Mall to conduct in-depth research on innovation platforms, tech enterprises, and urban commercial development, while exploring a wide range of cooperation opportunities.
