On January 9, Huang Qiang, Secretary of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee, met with a delegation led by Pablo Arriarán, Chilean Ambassador to China, in Changchun.

Huang Qiang extended a warm welcome to Pablo Arriarán and his delegation. After providing a brief introduction to the economic and social development of Jilin Province and highly appraising the achievements of local exchanges and cooperation between Jilin Province and Chile, Huang Qiang said that in October last year, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held, during which the Recommendations for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan were deliberated and adopted. China's ability to overcome a series of risks and challenges, achieve rapid economic development, and maintain long-term social stability is attributed to its practice of having plans and ensuring their implementation, adhering to a unified blueprint, and making sustained efforts generation after generation. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Chile. We are willing to be guided by the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, firmly grasp development opportunities, and continuously strengthen pragmatic cooperation with Chile in various aspects. We will further deepen cultural and tourism interactions, promote the complementary advantages of ice and snow tourism, jointly open up markets, attract tourists, and unleash the potential of cultural and tourism consumption. We will further strengthen economic and trade exchanges, continuously expand trade volumes in areas such as automobiles, minerals, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, wine, and cherries. We will further enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges and deepen cooperation in culture and the arts. The CHANGCHUN 2027 33rd Winter Universiade will be held next year, and we welcome Chilean university students to participate in the event. We look forward to meeting friends from all walks of life in Jilin and sharing in this world-class sports event.

Pablo Arriarán stated that Chile and China have maintained a good cooperative relationship for a long time, and China is an important market for Chilean products. He hoped that Jilin and Chile would enhance exchanges in various fields, create favorable conditions for cooperation between enterprises from both sides, and encourage more Chilean tourists to come to Jilin for skiing and more tourists from Jilin to visit Chile.
