The 9th China-Germany Automotive Conference commenced in Changchun on November 12. Hu Yuting, Governor and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, attended the event.

As the premier platform for cooperation and exchange between two automotive giants, the China-Germany Automotive Conference commands global attention for its high-level engagement and far-reaching impact. With strong support from the Ministry of Commerce, this year's conference, themed "Forging a New Ecosystem for China-Germany Automotive Industry Cooperation," aims to address the industry's shift toward electrification, connectivity, intelligence, and shared mobility. It will foster in-depth discussions on high-quality development, tackle challenges and opportunities arising from technological innovation, and advance practical, open collaboration—ushering in a new era of integrated, innovative, and mutually beneficial growth for both nations.

The automotive sector remains a cornerstone of Sino-German economic and trade relations. Aligned with the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, Jilin is intensifying efforts to upgrade traditional industries, scale up emerging sectors, and strategically plan future industries. These initiatives are part of a broader push to build a distinctive modern industrial system and cultivate new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions. The conference is set to deepen Sino-German collaborative outcomes by uniting automotive and parts manufacturers, research institutions, and experts—tapping into synergies across industrial, innovation, talent, and market domains to establish a new benchmark for bilateral automotive cooperation.

In their addresses, Hans-Peter Friedrich, former Vice President of the German Bundestag and Chairman of the Eastern Germany Economic International Cooperation Committee, and Stefan Frenz, Consul General of the German Consulate in Shenyang, emphasized the need for sustained partnership focused on automotive trends, enhanced dialogue, and substantive cooperation to achieve shared benefits. Echoing this sentiment, Chen Jian, Special Advisor to the CPPCC National Committee and former Vice Minister of Commerce; Yang Andi, Vice Governor of Jilin Province; Gu Gang, Mayor of Changchun; and Liu Yigong, General Manager of China FAW, stressed the importance of leveraging complementary strengths to capture emerging market opportunities and elevate collaboration to new heights.
