On October 18, Linglong Tire achieved a major milestone at its Changchun factory when its first self-developed 59/80R63 "Linglong" giant all-steel radial OTR tire rolled off the production line. 

The rollout of the 59/80R63 tire marks Linglong's official entry into a select group of  global enterprises capable of manufacturing 63-inch all-steel giant tires. With a diameter exceeding four meters and a single-tire weight of over six tons, this tire is currently the largest of its kind in the world. It is primarily designed for large dump trucks used in open-pit mining and can operate reliably under the complex, variable, and high-stress conditions in harsh mining environments.

Having accumulated nearly four decades of experience in the OTR tire sector, Linglong has been expanding its three main product lines—engineering machinery, agricultural, and industrial tires—ever since producing its first agricultural machinery diagonal tire in 1987, laying a strong foundation of technical expertise. Throughout the development of the 59/80R63 tire, the company overcame a series of critical technical challenges in structural design, material formulation, and process tooling for giant radial OTR tires, demonstrating robust independent innovation capabilities.

The launch of the 59/80R63 tire not only fills the gap in Linglong's portfolio of 63-inch giant radial OTR tires but also signifies the company's breakthrough in the long-established technological monopoly held by leading international brands, showing its comprehensive strength to compete with the world's top tire manufacturers in the giant tire segment. The tire boasts a maximum load capacity of 100 tons and is compatible with mainstream large mining dump trucks such as the Caterpillar 797 and Komatsu 980.

In terms of technical details, the tire features a high-saturation tread design, combined with multiple heat-dissipating grooves and ultra-low-temperature vulcanization technology. This enhances heat dissipation efficiency while significantly improving the rubber's cut resistance and durability, effectively extending the tire's service life under extreme working conditions.

In response to the increasing demand in the OTR tire market, Linglong launched a comprehensive upgrade of its OTR tire production capacity in 2022. Under its "7+5" global strategic framework, the company's "3+3" OTR tire industrial plan involves building OTR tire production capacity at three domestic bases and three overseas bases. The successful rollout of the 59/80R63 tire represents a critical step in realizing Linglong's "3+3" global strategy for OTR tires.
