China-Northeast Asia Expo to Be Held in Changchun from August 27 to 31
Recently, Yang Andi, Deputy Governor of Jilin Province, announced at a special press conference of the Ministry of Commerce that the 15th China-Northeast Asia Expo will be held in Changchun from August 27 to 31.
The 15th China-Northeast Asia Expo, themed "Partnering for Openness and a Win-win Future in Northeast Asia", is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the People's Government of Jilin Province. Emphasizing on internationalization, innovation, timeliness, immersion, and diversity, the event aims to build a new platform for industrial and supply chain cooperation, a new pillar for developing new quality productive forces, a new lever for expanding trade and investment, a new vehicle for boosting and upgrading consumption, and a new bridge for people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning, thereby elevating economic and trade cooperation in the Northeast Asia to new heights.
Yang Andi noted that the expo is currently the world's only international comprehensive expo jointly participated in by six Northeast Asian countries and open to the global community, and this year marks its 20th anniversary. Over the past two decades, the expo has played an pivotal role in promoting high-level dialogues, global trade in goods and services, and investment negotiations, as well as economic, trade, and people-to-people exchanges among Northeast Asian countries.
This year's expo will place greater emphasis on promoting trade through exhibitions and boosting investment through forums, highlighting industry and project matchmaking, as well as people-to-people and economic exchanges. It aims to build a new platform for industrial and supply chain cooperation, foster a new pillar for developing new quality productive forces, create a new lever for sustained trade and investment expansion, provide a new vehicle for stimulating and upgrading consumption, and build a new bridge for deepening people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning. Accordingly, in terms of exhibition design, the expo follows a "4+2" framework, which includes four themed exhibition halls—Modern Industry Pavilion, Open Cooperation Pavilion, New Consumption and New Services Pavilion, and International and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Specialty Products Pavilion—and two special exhibition zones, namely the Dedicated Zone for Ginseng and Sika Deer Products and the "Taste of Northeast Asian Expo · Flavors of Jilin" Jilin Cuisine Cultural Experience Zone. In terms of event design, the expo highlights a "1+14" matrix. The "1" refers to the main event comprising the opening ceremony, a tour of the pavilions, and other two parts, gathering dignitaries from various countries to build consensus for cooperation. The "14" refers to themed activities covering areas like regional cooperation, economic and trade exchanges, people-to-people exchanges, and industrial matchmaking, such as the Northeast Asia Local Cooperation Round-table Meeting, Russia Business Day, China-Japan Hydrogen Industry Matchmaking Meeting, China-ROK Economic and Trade Exchange Meeting, and the High-Quality Development Conference for Economic Development Zones, creating a comprehensive platform for cross-sector cooperation and exchange.
As of now, the event has attracted more than 8,000 business representatives from 42 countries and regions around the world, as well as from 27 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China. A total of 2,796 booths have been allocated, with 80% of the overall preparatory work completed, marking the official start of the countdown to the expo.
