2025 National Spring Festival Culture and Tourism Consumption Month Kicks Off in Changchun with Over 4,000 Programs Comprising Approximately 27,000 Activities Planned

With a diverse range of cultural tourism offerings, a surge in public enthusiasm for travel, and sustained growth in cultural tourism consumption, the market across the country is brimming with vitality. To further innovate diverse consumption scenarios and promote cultural tourism consumption, the main event of the 2025 National Spring Festival Culture and Tourism Consumption Month was launched in Changchun on January 15, marking the start of this nationwide initiative.
 
The 2025 National Spring Festival Culture and Tourism Consumption Month, held from January to February, under the theme "Bringing Joy to the People Through Cultural Tourism Benefits and Sharing a Beautiful Life", features a variety of cultural tourism consumption activities to benefit the people. There will be over 4,000 programs comprising approximately 27,000 activities nationwide, which are tailored to the characteristics of winter, Spring Festival culture, and tourism consumption, and focus on key consumer demands such as traditional New Year customs, food, ice and snow, warm-weather destinations, wellness, family activities, stud tours, performances, fashion, and national tide. Additionally, measures to benefit the people like consumption vouchers, ticket discounts, rebates, and package deals will be launched to provide the public with affordable and convenient cultural tourism experiences and foster a joyful and harmonious festive atmosphere, making travel and cultural celebrations a new tradition for the Spring Festival while adding vibrancy to people's lives during the holiday.
 
Changchun, currently in its peak season for ice and snow tourism, held the main event of the 2025 National Spring Festival Culture and Tourism Consumption Month, making visitors from across the country experience the stunning winter scenery of the north, characterized by endless expanses of ice and snow, and feel the warmth, hospitality, and sincerity of the local people. In recent years, the city has made concerted efforts on both the supply and demand sides to continuously unlock its cultural tourism consumption potential. Changchun has been recognized as one of China's first demonstration cities for cultural tourism consumption and has consistently been ranked among the top 10 summer tourism destinations and the top 10 ice and snow tourism cities. The cultural tourism industry has become a strong driving force for Changchun's high-quality development. During the Spring Festival, Changchun will continue to roll out consumption-promoting activities to better meet the cultural tourism consumption needs of the public during the holiday.
 
At the main event in Changchun, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with Sinopec, launched the "Hundred Cities and Thousand Stations" cultural tourism consumption initiative. China Meteorological Administration released products and consumer-friendly measures related to ice and snow tourism and warm-weather wellness. The culture and tourism departments of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia jointly announced a regional cooperation plan for the coordinated development of the ice and snow economy and cultural tourism consumption in Northeast China. Various associations, including the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding Association and the China Toy & Juvenile Products Association, along with financial institutions such as China UnionPay and the Agricultural Bank of China, and airlines like Air China, China Southern Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines, unveiled Spring Festival-themed cultural tourism activities, consumer-friendly measures, and premium products in combination with their respective fields. Additionally, Jilin Province announced policies to promote cultural tourism consumption during the event, including subsidies for ice and snow tourism buses, rewards to attract visitors to the province, and support measures such as ice and snow tourism consumption vouchers. These policies aim to invite more visitors to Jilin to enjoy soft rime, ski on powder snow, soak in hot springs, savor local cuisine, experience folk customs, and celebrate the Spring Festival.
