Recently, at the 2023 China Ice and Snow Tourism Development Forum, the China Tourism Academy (Data Center of Ministry of Culture and Tourism) released the China Ice and Snow Tourism Development Report (2023). Changchun has been awarded the title of one of "Top 12 Ice and Snow Tourism Cities of 2023".

Changchun, located in the heart of Northeast China, has a time-honored history of snow and ice culture. Boasting rich snow and ice resources and diversified snow and ice products, Changchun has unique characteristics and advantages in developing snow and ice tourism. In recent years, Changchun has fully implemented the "Ice and Snow Silk Road" strategic plan of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and People's Government of Jilin Province, to strengthen the ice and snow economy. It has honored the title of one of "National Top 10 Ice and Snow Cities" successively, and the ice and snow industry has continued to boom with new vitality and vigor.

On December 28, 2022, the 26th Changchun Ice and Snow Festival was launched. The 100-day-long Festival will continue to create a new landscape for the development of Changchun's ice and snow industry, as well as inject new vitality into the high-quality development of Changchun's ice and snow economy and new momentum into the all-round revitalization of Changchun, so as to provide a high-standard ice and snow feast for the domestic and foreign tourists as well as the general public of Changchun.

Looking back at the development of Changchun's ice and snow industry, Changchun has focused on creating the "Urban Ice and Snow" brand, deepened the fostering of the double advantages of Changchun's "powder snow and quiet wind" natural resources and "humanistic city" cultural resources, and vigorously developed the three major industries - ice and snow tourism, ice and snow sports, and ice and snow culture. By gradually forming multiple industrial chains and products system, the ice and snow industry has gradually walked out a Changchun path, which accelerates the growth of the ice and snow economy. "Snow" is changed into "silver" and cold resources boost the hot economy.
