2022 Nature Index - Scientific Research City, a supplement of Nature, a world-famous scientific journal, was released recently. Changchun ranked 35th among the top 100 scientific research cities in the world, up two places compared with 2021, 14th in China and 1st in Northeast China, which fully demonstrated Changchun's strong scientific research strength and status.
In recent years, our city has made new progress and breakthroughs in technical innovation. The National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone and National Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone were successfully approved, and the first local law of technological innovation in four northeastern cities - Changchun Technological Innovation Regulations was officially implemented. The R&D expenditure of the whole city has maintained a double-digit growth for two years, and the construction of a technological innovation city has started in an all-round way. At the same time, the Jilin Province and Changchun City jointly set up FAW's major independent innovation projects, explored the mechanism of "unveiling and leading", gathered 32 innovation subjects and 813 scientific researchers across the country to jointly tackle key problems, and achieved phased achievement. The number of scientific and technological enterprises has greatly increased, reaching a record high. This year, 1,379 small and medium-sized scientific and technological enterprises have passed the national evaluation, and 988 enterprises have passed the provincial evaluation and reported to the Ministry of Science and Technology for public review. The operating income of high-tech enterprises exceeds RMB 700 billion, which has become an important growth pole in the city's economic development.
