The 4th Annual Meeting for Cooperation in Cross-strait Sister Lake Industry Held

The 4th Annual Meeting for Cooperation in Cross-strait Sister Lake Industry was held at the Jingyue Lake of Changchun City. The meeting was guided by the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, hosted by the Jilin Provincial Association of Taiwan Compatriots and the Administrative Committee of Changchun Jingyue Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, and organized by the Changchun Jingyue Lake Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd. and the Secretariat of the Annual Meeting for Cooperation in Cross-strait Sister Lake Industry. 

Feng Qingzhong, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, and Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Jilin Province, Lv Dong, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Changchun Jingyue Hi-tech Industry Zone, Ren Hui, Director of the Liaison Department of All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, attended and addressed the meeting. Lin Mingqin, Head of  Nantou County, Southeast China’s Taiwan, delivered a video speech. More than 120 representatives from all walks of life on the both sides of the Taiwan Strait attended the meeting. 

In line with the theme of “one source of kinship, eight lakes for health”, the meeting is meant to focus on discussing the new stage, concept and pattern of the development of health preservation of lake tourism industry, promoting the gradual transformation of tourism market of sightseeing and recreation to one that integrates sightseeing, leisure, experience and health preservation, promoting in an active manner the deep integration of such industries as health preservation and ecology, tourism, culture and education. In the meantime, the participants had in-depth discussions and exchanges of views on the transformation and development of lakes as tourist destinations in the new era and the new progress of ice and snow tourism of lakes. 

Eight members including Jingyue Lake in Changchun of Jilin Province, Tianmu Lake in Changzhou of Jiangsu Province, Taiping Lake in Huangshan of Anhui Province, Dajin Lake in Taining of Fujian Province, Fairy Lake in Xinyu of Jiangxi Province, Jinyin Lake in Wuhan of Hubei Province, Changshou Lake in Chongqing, Sun and Moon Lake in Southeast China’s Taiwan joined the meeting. 

Since the first meeting held in 2018, all members have been working in line with the concept of “one family on the both sides of the Strait” and under the principle of “equality, exchanges, cooperation and development”, taking cooperation among industries as the core to explore effective ways for win-win development of local lake scenic areas, with substantial achievements made in fulfilling the goal of creating a world-class brand of lake tourism. 

Insiders say not only has the meeting become a grand event for sister lakes to share development achievements it has also deepened the new pattern of exchanges and cooperation among the sister lakes cross the Taiwan Strait. Through this meeting, the feelings of sister lakes on the both sides of the Taiwan Strait have been further enhanced, new ideas for win-win development of economic, cultural and tourism among the sister lakes on the both sides of the Taiwan Strait have been explored, and the purpose of making industries interact with each other in terms of complementary advantages, exchanges of resources, cultural interaction, mutual assistance of sources of tourists has been realized.
