According to the ranking list 2020 of competitiveness of the biomedical parks in China, Changchun Hi-tech Industry Development Zone ranks the tenth after its counterparts including Suzhou Industrial Park, Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone and Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-tech Industry Development Zone.

Since 2013, such list has been released for seven times as an effort to analyze the competitiveness of the biomedical industrial parks in China. This time, five primary competitiveness indicators environment, industry, technology, talent and cooperation and 39 secondary ones including output value and rate of growth and R&D investment were adopted in the assessment of 215 industrial parks including 121 national hi-tech industry zones, 81 national economic development zones and 13 industrial parks and others alike at provincial level.

The key to the ranking of Changchun Hi-tech Industry Zone is the construction of a relatively complete pharmaceutical industrial chain and ecosystem for the multi-layer, all-round development of the innovation chain, industrial chain and supply chain of pharmaceutical and health industry. In 2020, the output value of the pharmaceutical and health industry of Changchun Hi-tech Industry Development Zone reached RMB16.08 billion, accounting for 82.4% of the city. From January to September this year, the output value amounted to nearly RMB20 billion, a year-on-year increase of 72.77%, showing a trend of high-speed growth.
