The opening ceremony of the 13th China Northeast Asia Expo and the 11th Northeast Asia Cooperation Summit Forum will be held in Changchun City on September 23, 2021. Insiders say the preparation for the summit, an important activity for Northeast Asia Expo, is moving forward as smoothy as expected. 

According to the national and provincial requirements of anti-pandemic control and prevention, the summit will be held in the form of online subordinately and mainly offline. In line with the theme Join Hands to Seek Common Development in Northeast Asia, the event is meant to promote the Belt and Road Initiative. In the preparatory process, importance will be attached to adhering to the regional characteristics of Northeast Asia, and more to the fulfilment of the goal of making the summit international, open and pragmatic. The participants will discuss for mutual benefits and win-win results in such fields as resource development, industrial coordination, channel construction and financial reciprocity. 

According to Wu Jibo, Chief Economist of Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce, organizer of the opening ceremony of the 13th China Northeast Asia Expo and the 11th Northeast Asia Cooperation Summit Forum, the Party leadership group of Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce has been attaching great importance to the summit, with efforts made in establishing a special team, defining responsibilities and implementing tasks to organize and push forward the preparation as smoothly as expected. 

As one of the “highlights” of China Northeast Asia Expo, the summit is meant to strengthen and promote economic and trade cooperation in Northeast Asia and coordinate actively and effectively to solve some major problems in cooperation, promote the development of regional cooperation in Northeast Asia in a wider field and at a higher level. Insiders say the summit has gradually become an open platform of far-reaching significance to in-depth exchanges, practical cooperation and mutual benefits among the countries in Northeast Asia.
