Hongqi’s first independently designed and developed hydrogen engine 2.0L was said to have gone off the production line at the Research and Development Headquarters of FAW. Insiders say such progress marks that Hongqi has entered the era of “zero carbon emission and pollution”. 

The achievement also marks that Hongqi has taken a solid step forward towards zero emission and high efficiency, which can be recognized as a powerful action to implement the goal of “peaking carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality” in the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Based on this, the Research and Development Headquarters of FAW will put more efforts into engine research, development and testing so as to secure a leading position in the field of clean energy.
