Xue Chunzhi, Director General of Changchun Foreign Affairs Office (CCFAO), met with the delegation led by the general manager of Sumitomo (Shanghai) Corporation Changchun Branch on October 10, 2020. The two sides had talks on further strengthening friendship and cooperation. 

At the meeting, Xue Chunzhi expressed his welcome to the delegation, saying, “Changchun and Sumitomo (Shanghai) Corporation have maintained a sound, cooperative relationship over the past years. CCFAO will continue to do the best to facilitate the development of your company in Changchun City. Hopefully, the partnership between the two sides can be deepened with the care and support of your general manager.” “I would like to take this chance to express my heartfelt thanks to your office for your support for Sumitomo, especially for your contribution to sending letters of invitation to China and promoting work and production resumption during the epidemic period,” said the head of the delegation, adding, “I will explore new opportunities of cooperation in such fields as auto parts and old-age care and thus continue to the economic development of your city.”  

Sumitomo, founded in 1919, is a large-scale, comprehensive company in Japan, ranking the 250th in Fortune Global 500. In July 2004, Sumitomo (Shanghai) Corporation Changchun Branch was established. Sumitomo has so far invested three companies in Changchun City, which are mainly engaged in selling automotive equipment, spare parts, metal and synthetic resin materials to the enterprises of FAW Group. 

For the next step, CCFAO will keep in touch with the company and explore new ways of cooperation to promote investment attraction to Changchun City.  

Among the officials invited to the meeting also included Duan Huaxu, Deputy Director General of CCFAO.
