The “Night of Vasaloppet” for Changchun 2020 Jingyue Lake Vasa International Skiing Festival and Project Signing Ceremony were held at the Sheraton Jingyue Lake Yitian Hotel Saturday evening on January 4, 2020. Government officials including Wang Kai, Xu Han, Wang Lu, Jia Lina and Wang Haiying attended the ceremony. 

There are 23 projects signed at the ceremony, with a total contractual amount of RMB81.66 billion covering such fields as film and television culture, biomedicine, financial service, scientific and technological innovation, tourism and leisure and health. The projects singed this time, sizable investment, high scientific and technological content, strong driving force for industries, are expected to play a strong role in promoting the future socioeconomic development of Jingyue Hi-tech Industry Development Zone. With the approach of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Jingyue Hi- tech Industry Development Zone is striving to take the express train of Winter Olympics, seize the opportunity for the development of ice and snow economy, and make “silver out of snow” and turn “cold resources” into “hot economy” by organizing a series of activities during the Jingyue Lake Vasaloppet International Skiing Festival.  

The “Night of Vasaloppet” was highlighted by such performances as “Sounds of Nature”, “To Get Married”, “Ice and Snow Dance”, Da Ji Innovation, Award Ceremony other traditional, cultural activities including Peking Opera, Paper Cutting, Sugar Figure Making, Cultural and Creative Exhibition of Jingyue Lake Vasaloppet International Skiing Festival, which in turn has made a night of attractiveness for all the guests from home and abroad.  

Wang Lu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, Executive Deputy Mayor of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Secretary of Party Work Committee of Jingyue Hi-tech Industry Development Zone, said: “After 18 years of accumulation and development, Changchun Jingyue Lake Vasaloppet International Skiing Festival has become a great event integrating sport, fitness, tourism and leisure, cultural exchanges and economic and trade cooperation, which will surely make it an eye-catching business card for more friends from home and abroad to know more about Changchun City, Jilin Province, and get to love Changchun City, Jilin Province.” 

The “Night of Vasaloppet” was attended by distinguished guests from Ski Federation of Mora, Sweden, Counselor of the Swedish Embassy in China, and leaders of international organizations and institutions such as Vasaloppet of Sweden, FIS and Nordic Ways.  

During the festival, Jingyue Hi-tech Industry Development Zone will also organize three thematic forums on “Jilin-Zhejiang Cooperation and Economic Development”, “Development of Film and Television Industry” and “Development of Biomedicine and Health”, which is expected to attract more than 1,000 guests from home and abroad.
