The 15th Changchun Kaffir Lily Festival “Flower Show, Culture Dissemination, Technology Exchange and Commodity Trade” was opened at the Chunlian Flower Center on March 21, 2019.

The festival is organized over an area of 12,000 square meters, covering 700 exhibition booths 500 of which are for kaffir lily flowers and 200 for others, and four sections showcasing culture, achievements, exquisite exhibits and commodities.

In addition to flower show, culture exhibition, photo contest, summit forum and giving flower seeds as gifts, other activities including queens of greenhouse, window (balcony) kaffir lily flowers and gold medal winners and elite gardeners will be selected during the festival.

Kaffir Lily is the city flower of Changchun. In recent years, Kaffir Lily industry has been growing dramatically, with an annual output value of more than RMB2 billion. There are 25 industrial parks with more than 5 greenhouses each in the city, totaling 200 hectares of planting area for 200 million plants. The number of planters at designated size or above has exceeded 3,000. More than 200,000 people are now working in the field.

The 5-day festival is open free to the public before it is closed on March 25. The citizens who are planning to visit can take Bus No. 109 at Taiyangcheng or Bus No. 137 at Yongchun Wholesale Center to the venue.
