Wang Junzheng, Liu Xin Meet Delegation of Warrnambool

Wang Junzheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, and Liu Xin, Acting Mayor of Changchun City, met the delegation led by Mayor Tony Herbert of Warrnambool on November 12, 2018.


​Warrnambool and Changchun became friendship cities in 2013. The delegation came mainly to deepen the economic and trade as well as cultural and people-to-people cooperation and exchanges between the two cities.


At the meeting, Wang Junzheng, on behalf of the CPC Changchun Municipal Government and the People’s Government of Changchun City, extended his welcome to the delegation, and briefly introduced the socioeconomic development of Changchun City. “Changchun is now implementing in depth the spirit of speech and important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection to Northeast China, with active efforts made to put new development concept in practice and deepen opening up. The vitality of economy has been strengthened, and the pace of growth transforming and restructuring has been accelerated,” said Wang Junzheng.


“An opening-up place is the most dynamic and an opening–up economy is of greatest competitiveness,” Wang Junzheng said, “The industries of the two cities are highly supplementary to each other. We hope your visit will help strengthen our cooperation and exchanges in such fields agriculture, economy, trade and culture, get deeply involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and thus open a new chapter for the friendly exchanges between the two cities.”


“Changchun is the first city I have visited since I took the post of mayor. In recent years, the two cities have made remarkable achievements in such fields as education and sport. I hope we can deepen cooperation and exchanges, strengthen exchanges among citizens and thus promote mutual development,” said Mayor Tony Herbert


Among the officials present at the meeting also included Ma Yanfeng, Jia Lina and Chief Executive BRUCE A. ANSON of Warrnambool.
