The Flame Arrives in Changchun!
On the morning of October 14, the flame welcome ceremony for the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade (hereinafter referred to as the Universiade) was held at the Changchun Historical and Cultural Museum.

The flame was taken from Turin, the host city of the first Universiade, carrying forward the spirit of the Universiade that spans 68 years. The bearers of the flame lantern were Changchun residents from all walks of life.
Twelve representatives came together to safeguard this flame of youth that traveled across mountains and oceans, ranging from athletes, firefighters and students to pilots, international students, engineers, police officers and delivery couriers.
Their presence conveys Changchun's message: the Universiade belongs not only to the sporting arena, but to every co-builder of this city, who shares the glory of this ice and snow event.

Rooted in Changchun, they have stayed committed to their posts day in and day out, forming a powerful force to boost the city's development.
It is the contribution of countless individuals that makes this international winter sports event possible. Relayed by ordinary people, this "flame of knowledge" from Turin has taken root in Changchun, igniting winter sports dreams across the city and embodying the sport spirit that is inclusive and benefits all.
Known as the cradle of the PRC's film industry, Changchun also has a solid foundation in the automotive industry and optoelectronic sci-tech sector, and dozens of higher education institutions nurturing vibrant young talent. Yet a city's enduring culture is not simply words written in historical records; it is built through the steady work of ordinary people across generations.
Ordinary citizens have now carried the flame forward and taken their place in the Universiade. They embody the genuine qualities of Changchun: warmth, charm, and initiative.
The Universiade will feature 97 events across 12 sports. Thousands of student-athletes from more than 60 countries and regions will gather in Changchun, the "Spring City" of northeast China, to pursue their dreams amid powder snow, calm winds, and warm sunshine.
The event will take place in the main competition zone of Changchun City and the secondary zone of Jilin City from January 15 to 25, 2027.
The world will see more than just a winter sports event.
A flame was passed from Turin to Changchun.
The event will present to the world a credible, appealing, and respectable figure of China, showcase the caring, vibrant, and proactive image of Jilin Province, and invite global youth to experience its winter charm.
