The 21st Changchun Film Festival Unveils Visual Poster Featuring Mascots for the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade
Co-hosted by China Media Group and the People's Government of Jilin Province, and organized by the Changchun Municipal People's Government, the 21st Changchun Film Festival is set to take place from August 23 to 28, 2026, in Changchun, Jilin. On August 9, the festival organizing committee unveiled a visual poster featuring the mascots for the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade.

The poster uses the festival's red-carpet stage as its central visual, where a crimson curtain and staircase lighting create a grand, festive atmosphere befitting a film gala. At the heart of the composition stands the iconic Golden Deer trophy, reinforcing the event's cinematic identity. Taking center stage as the main visual focus, the two mascots of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade inject a playful, youthful vibe while subtly echoing Changchun's snowy landscape. One mascot forms a heart with its hands, while the other raises a single finger—together symbolizing "21," a playful homophone for "love you" in Chinese.
The mascots' costumes feature snowflake motifs that reflect the region's icy character, while their modern, trendy styling appeals directly to younger viewers. The dominant red-and-gold palette delivers both classic sophistication and strong visual punch. The design seamlessly blends Changchun's rich film history, its ice-and-snow culture, and the dynamic spirit of modern cinema. This striking contrast between traditional festival grandeur and contemporary cartoon imagery captures the festival's enduring mission: to preserve cinematic dreams while embracing fresh, youthful vitality.
