"Spring Melodies of Songliao Plain and Autumn Songs of Changbai Mountain"
— Joint Exhibition of the Association of Sino-Russian Art Universities Kicks Off at Jilin University of Arts

On September 19, the joint exhibition titled "Spring Melodies of Songliao Plain and Autumn Songs of Changbai Mountain", organized by the Association of Sino-Russian Art Universities, kicked off at the Art Museum of Jilin University of Arts, along with the national tour of Jilin-related artworks by renowned artists from art schools.

The event was hosted by the Jilin Provincial Education Department, the Association of Sino-Russian Art Universities, Jilin University of Arts, the Sino-Russian University Art Exchange Base of the Ministry of Education, and the Jilin Provincial Committee for Aesthetic Education Guidance. It features over 100 artworks by renowned artists from China and Russia, highlighting the natural beauty of Jilin and the revitalization of its old industrial base in the contemporary era.

Established in 2012 by Jilin University of Arts and Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, the Association of Sino-Russian Art Universities is one of the earliest officially registered alliances among the 13 similar university alliances recognized by the education authorities in both countries. Its members and observers are from over ten renowned art schools and famous cultural groups in China and Russia.

In line with the philosophy of artistic interaction and cross-cultural collaboration, Jilin University of Arts invited renowned Russian people's artists, honored artists, and professors from the Repin Academy of Fine Arts to exhibit their works. These art masters, as a special invited unit and an important part of this exhibition, foster a new chapter to Sino-Russian cultural exchanges.

As a branch of the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Jilin University of Arts is the only public comprehensive art college in Northeast China, with fine arts as its foundational discipline. Renowned painters and educators such as Wang Qinghuai, Sun Tianmu, Wang Bingzhao, Pan Su, Hu Tilin, and Li Wei have studied or taught there. The national tour of artworks by renowned artists from art schools began its first exhibition in April this year in Guangxi, followed by exhibitions in Shanghai and Shenzhen in May and June. The event has received enthusiastic responses and support from 25 art schools, comprehensive art colleges, and normal universities across the country, showcasing the vibrant energy of Jilin in the new era through diverse artistic expressions.

It is reported that the exhibition will run until September 30 and is free to the public. During the exhibition, Chinese and Russian artists will visit the picturesque autumn landscapes of Songliao Plain to co-create artworks that depict the beauty of Jilin and will hold masterclasses in oil painting and sketching at Jilin University of Arts.
