On August 13, it was announced at the Press Conference of the 19th Changchun Film Festival that the festival, hosted by China Media Group and Jilin Provincial Government, and organized by Changchun Municipal Government, will take place in Changchun from August 28 to September 1.

Under the theme of "New Era, New Cradle, and New Power" and with the goal of "Meeting in the City of Films to Discuss the Future of Cinema", the festival will consist of six main sections: opening and closing ceremonies, film award ceremony, film screenings, film exchanges, tributes to the "Cradle", and industrial integration. The opening ceremony is scheduled for August 28, and the closing ceremony & "Golden Deer Award" ceremony will be held on September 1, both at the Golden Hall of Changchun International Movie Metropolis in the Jingyue High-tech Zone of Changchun. This year's "Golden Deer Award" will feature 10 awards for the Best Picture, the Grand Jury, the Best Director, the Best Actor, the Best Actress, the Best Screenplay, the Best Cinematography, the Best Music, the Best Editing, and the Best Debut. The film submission process was completed on August 5, with 124 films submitted for competition. During the festival, there will be various screening events like "City Lights" and "Cinema Under the Stars" through open-air, public benefit, and other forms of screenings. There will also be the 7th China Film New Force Forum, the 1st China Film Producers Summit, the Seminar on "Discussing Drama and Seeking Scripts", and more. Additional activities include the "Changchun Film Night" film-themed symphony concert, Golden Deer venture capital investment, public film song sing-alongs, and a street film music carnival.

The festival will pay more attention to professionalism, industry engagement, and public participation and strive to create a high-end platform for Chinese film exchanges, a cooperative platform to support the development of the cultural industry, and a platform benefiting the public by enriching their cultural life.

According to reports, the seven judges of the festival are all highly respected professional authorities in the industry. During the film submission period, most eligible Chinese films with good box office and critical acclaim signed up to compete for the "Golden Deer Award". The 7th China Film New Force Forum will be held for the fourth time at the Changchun Film Festival, with invitations extended to young directors and screenwriters who have been active on the front lines of filmmaking in recent years. The 1st China Film Producers Summit will further serve as a bridge and link to connect production companies

Moreover, the festival will include cultural industry investment attraction activities to accelerate project signing and implementation, as well as various public cultural events to promote local cultural tourism consumption, integrate multiple business formats, and shape the unique cultural IP of the Changchun Film Festival, thereby showcasing the distinct charm of the "City of Films".
