On July 20, to seize the opportunities for deepening China-Uruguay Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and agricultural cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, Zhao Haiying, Director of Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Yang Xiaoping, Deputy Director, led a four-member delegation to Jilin Xia Lan Biology Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xia Lan Bio) for a dedicated research visit.

During the research visit, accompanied by Xia Lunan, chairperson of the board of Xia Lan Bio, the delegation visited the company's key facilities including the medical device production workshop, animal regenerative medicine laboratory, and functional food production workshop. The visit comprehensively showcased the company's hardware facilities, technological R&D, development achievements, and strategic layout.

Xia stated that Xia Lan Bio is a national-level high-tech enterprise and a tech-based small and medium-sized enterprise. With five core technology sectors as its main R&D focus, including in vitro diagnosis, new biomedical materials, rapid testing for agricultural and livestock products, natural bioactive substance extraction, and intelligent manufacturing support technologies, the company adopts a collaborative innovation model integrating industry, academia, and research. With a complete system encompassing R&D, pilot testing, mass production, and cross-border technology commercialization, the company boasts technologies covering four major arenas, namely medical care, animal husbandry, medical aesthetics, and healthy food, exporting its products to South America, Oceania, as well as Asian countries such as Japan and South Korea.

Director Zhao spoke highly of the company's development model and its achievements. On the spot, she responded to the company's development-related concerns with two following measures. First, Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office will fully leverage its resources to assist the company in connecting with senior Uruguayan government officials and seeking local industrial support policies. Second, in coordination with high-level mutual visits between China and Uruguay, the Office will vigorously promote the China-Uruguay cooperation project undertaken by Xia Lan Bio as a landmark achievement in Changchun's foreign trade and economic cooperation.

Going forward, the Office will conduct precise matchmaking in light of the company's needs, actively facilitate its access to resources in South America, regularly issue risk warnings, and support its expansion into the South American market to serve its development needs.
