On March 13, the Automobile Industry Matching and Cooperation Conference for Changchun Modern Metropolitan Area was successfully held at the FAW Group NBD Headquarters. Attendees included representatives from FAW's Supply Chain Management Department and R&D Headquarters, its various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), alongside key automotive enterprises from the cities of Changchun, Jilin, Siping, and Liaoyuan. The conference aimed to integrate regional strengths, facilitate precise supply-demand matching, deepen industrial synergies, and expand the "Automotive+" industrial ecosystem, thereby empowering high-quality development within the metropolitan area's automotive sector.

The event, jointly initiated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of Changchun City and FAW Group, invited nine core Tier 1 suppliers of FAW Group, including FAW Mould, Sanfu, and Xuyang, as well as 22 auto parts enterprises from the four cities, three of which operate in the optoelectronics field.

During the conference, auto enterprises from the four cities presented their products one by one and expressed their willingness for cooperation. Relevant departments and enterprises of FAW Group, as well as the participating Tier 1 suppliers, responded on the spot, achieving instant, efficient, and precise matchmaking. Additionally, leveraging this event, the cities delved into discussions on cross-domain cooperation matters such as "automobile + optoelectronics," "automobile + chemical industry," "automobile + aluminum materials," and "automobile + machining," actively fostering new forms of industrial integration.

Cao Lijun, Deputy General Manager of the Supply Chain Management Department of FAW Group,  affirmed the comprehensive strength and cooperation needs of the participating enterprises, stating that FAW Group will continue to open up its supply chain resources, strengthen collaboration between assemblers and parts suppliers, and facilitate the integration of more high-quality enterprises from the metropolitan area into FAW's supply chain system. Song Shaozhong, Deputy Director of the Changchun Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, expressed his hope that FAW Group will continue to play a leading role in driving the industry forward, assisting relevant enterprises in the metropolitan area to enhance their technological capabilities and product quality. The industry and information technology department will act as a bridge and provide service guarantees, jointly safeguarding the security and stability of the automobile industry chain and working together to create a more competitive automobile industry ecosystem.

As the core engine of the Changchun Modern Metropolitan Area, Changchun relies on the leading advantage of FAW Group and has gathered a number of well-known vehicle manufacturers such as FAW Jiefang, FAW Besturn, FAW-Volkswagen, and Audi FAW, core suppliers including FAW Mould, Faway, FAWER, FAWSN, and Xuyang, as well as over a thousand auto parts enterprises.  With its comprehensive industrial system, Changchun is recognized as one of China's 80 national-level advanced manufacturing clusters and stands as the largest and most influential industrial cluster in Northeast China. The city has successfully completed major national initiatives, including the pilot program for battery-swapping in new energy vehicles and the pilot zone for comprehensive electrification in the public sector. It is now rapidly advancing the national pilot project for "Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration" in intelligent connected vehicles, striving to play a significant demonstrative and leading role in the evolving landscape of intelligent mobility.

This event not only marks a new chapter in facilitating precise connections between enterprises from the four cities and FAW Group but also signifies the formal entry of industrial collaboration within the Changchun Modern Metropolitan Area into a substantive phase, serving as a model of significant demonstrative value. Moving forward, all regions will take this as an opportunity to deepen communication and collaboration mechanisms, advance new integrated development models such as "Automotive+" and "Optoelectronics+," consolidate the industrial advantages of the metropolitan area, address weaknesses in the industrial chain, and steer the automotive industry towards higher quality, greater efficiency, and more sustainable development, thereby contributing Changchun's strength to the industrial transformation and upgrading of the metropolitan area.
