Changchun's ice and snow industry is booming as winter arrives. From December 18 to 22, the city will host the 9th Jilin International Ice and Snow Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as the 9th Snow Expo) at the Northeast Asia International Expo Center, bringing fresh energy to this city of ice and snow.

This year's Expo breaks new ground by using three modern exhibition halls—A1, A2, and A3—for the first time, which total 61,500 square meters. Built around the "Ice & Snow +" concept and a "Music + Exhibition" dual-core model, it aims to deliver a world-class ice and snow spectacle boasting diverse offerings, fresh experiences, and far-reaching impact, thereby pushing Jilin's ice and snow sector into a new era of diverse, immersive, and high-quality growth. The reporter learned that the Hall A2, named the Ice and Snow Gallery, serves as an epitome of Jilin's snow and ice industry. The "Learn to Ski in Changchun" zone, covering an area of 2,400 square meters, highlights the city's "One Street, Two Parks, Six Venues" winter sports scenarios. Wanda Mall Changchun joins the Expo for the first time with discounted tickets, while local attractions and tour agencies will roll out stackable discounts, which together will form an integrated chain from showcasing resources and building skills to driving consumption. Technology will meet snow at the Jilin Bionic Robot Innovation Center, where a robot obstacle race will inject smart vitality into the Expo. Tea drink brand CHAGEE will share traditional tea culture at a heritage-themed booth, and the "Little Ice and Snow Heroes" dry-slope challenge will provide kids a fun platform to participate in ice-snow sports.

This Expo is set to propel the boundless expansion of the "Ice & Snow +" business format. The Yueru Volcanic Hot Spring Resort debuts with its "five-in-one" vision combining art, culture, agriculture, business, and tourism. Winter camping, pod-style RVs, and other trends will also be on show. Shoppers can grab limited 9.9-yuan ice-skating vouchers from Eurasia Collection. The International Trade Zone will showcase a diverse range of specialty goods from various countries, fostering a diverse consumption ecosystem centered around ice and snow experiences. From tour packages and hot spring coupons to flash sales on winter tech products, the Expo will be packed with visitor-friendly offerings to fuel winter spending. 

In terms of innovative development, this year's Snow Expo breaks new ground with its novel "music + exhibition" format, merging professional exhibitions seamlessly with trendy performances. By breaking the limits of conventional static displays, it will offer a full-sensory immersive experience that is "visible, audible, playable, and purchasable". The MMC Powder Snow Rock Concert will fire up Hall A1, while the WSDF World Street Dance Competition will kick off at Halls A1 and A3, drawing dancers from across the globe. The Changbai Grand Show Powder Snow Fashion Week & Guochao E-Music Carnival will feature three highlight shows: a Jilin-style neo-Chinese costume fashion show, a national EDM and "Ice and Snow Jilin People" music gear show, and a creative ice and snow apparel design show by Northeast Electric Power University. By integrating R&D, manufacturing, resources, services, experiences, and consumption, the Expo will help Jilin transform its winter sports sector into a comprehensive industrial ecosystem. Additionally, it will further enhance the "Learn to Ski in Changchun" identity, transforming the region's ice and snow resources into catalysts for industrial growth—a winter destination for all powered by the "Ice & Snow +" model, aiming for driving high-quality growth across the regional winter sports landscape.
