Changchun's Cultural Tourism Promotion Event Debuts in Moscow! China-Russian Cultural Tourism and Economic Cooperation Opens a New Chapter
In response to the important consensus reached by the heads of China and Russia and in line with the directives of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Changchun Municipal People's Government, a delegation from Changchun arrived in Moscow, Russia, on December 7 to further deepen and expand exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the field of cultural tourism. On December 8, at noon local time, the delegation, in collaboration with the China Cultural Center in Moscow and the China National Tourist Office in Russia, hosted a cultural tourism promotion event for Changchun, effectively introducing the city's brand "Changchun: Beautiful All Year Round" to the Russian market.

The event took place at the China Cultural Center in Moscow. Attendees included Feng Litao, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Russia and Director of the China Cultural Center in Moscow, Zhao Hui, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Changchun Municipal People's Congress, Wang Rui, Director of the China National Tourist Office in Moscow, Zuraev, Vice Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Buryatia and its Plenipotentiary Representative to the Russian Federation, Nemchenko, Director of the Representative Office of Primorsky Krai to the Russian Federation, as well as government representatives from Russia's Novosibirsk Oblast, Krasnoyarsk Krai, and Moscow Oblast, along with nearly a hundred participants comprising Russian travel agents, Chinese and Russian media representatives, and faculty and students from tourism institutions. The gathering explored fresh opportunities in cultural tourism partnerships, signaling a new phase of regional cooperation between China and Russia.

Speakers from both nations highlighted in their addresses that Changchun, as a pivotal city along the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor under the Belt and Road Initiative, shares strong complementarities and vast potential for cooperation with Russia in tourism resources and industrial foundations. All parties expressed hope that this event would serve as a catalyst to accelerate the rollout of tourism routes, establish a sustainable cooperation framework characterized by "resource sharing, tourist exchange, and joint branding," and further expand practical cooperation between Changchun and Russia across various fields.

Leveraging favorable policies such as the mutual visa exemption between the two countries, the event aimed to encourage more Russian friends to visit Changchun. By fostering cultural and tourism integration, it seeks to enhance mutual understanding and inject lasting vitality into the development of bilateral relations.

An official from the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism delivered a comprehensive presentation on Changchun's year-round tourism appeal under the theme "Changchun: Beautiful All Year Round."

The head of the Changchun Tourism Association introduced three premium inbound tourism routes to the attending Russian travel agencies, showcasing the city's unique charm of "One Captivating City, Four Distinct Seasons" from multiple perspectives.

Tourism enterprises from both sides also engaged in in-depth discussions on the research and design of sightseeing routes in the Moscow vicinity and resort products in the Far East region. Vice Chairman Zuraev of the Republic of Buryatia showed particular interest in Changchun's wellness tourism products that integrate TCM and proposed collaboration on air route development. Representatives from the Russian travel agencies noted that Changchun's offerings in ice-snow tourism, wellness products, and distinctive cuisine align well with Russian market demands, expressing willingness to further accelerate tourism exchange and cooperation, as well as tourist-to-tourist interaction between enterprises from both regions.
