On February 28, Changchun 2023 key city construction projects kicked off. Zhang Zhijun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, announced the starting of the projects. Wang Zilian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Mayor of Changchun City, delivered a speech.

Zhang Zhijun and Wang Zilian inspected the project site and dispatched the works for municipal infrastructure construction after they read the exhibition boards and listened to the reports. Zhang Zhijun stressed that speeding up the construction of major projects is an important measure to expand the effective investment and stabilize the economic development, and he asked the departments to strive for the start and speed up the progress to achieve a "good start" for the economic development of the first quarter while advancing the projects in an all-round manner and at a fast speed by hard work.

For this year, Changchun plans to implement 383 key urban construction projects with an annual investment of RMB 72.5 billion, covering various fields such as urban renewal, transport facilities, environmental governance, supporting facilities of park and factor guarantee, and both the number and investment value for the projects are highest over the history. On the same day, 27 key projects with an annual investment of RMB 26.7 billion were launched.

Wang Zilian stressed in his speech that the construction is the battle and the construction site is the battlefield. All fronts of the city and the Party committee and governments of all districts should put the main effort into the project construction as a development ring, strengthen their sense of service, go to the front line of the project, solve practical problems, and effectively provide the best environment and strongest protection for project construction. They should try to do the job of land expropriation to ensure the smooth and efficient advancement of projects. They should also focus on the investment attraction, strengthen the project planning and packaging, and strongly promote the implementation of the work to ensure that more large projects and better projects land in Changchun to inject strong momentum into the "city linkage in six areas". The projects and construction units should raise the awareness of efficiency and advance the projects according to the schedule and plan while ensuring the quality and safety of the projects, so as to complete the projects and put these projects into use as early as possible.

During the events, the persons from the Changchun Municipal Construction Committee, City Investing Group and China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp. Ltd Northeast China Branch who are in charge of the projects respectively made the statement and delivered the speech on behalf of their administrative department and construction unit.
