The 2023 China Industrial Economy Summit Forum and the Fourth China Industrial Economy Annual Conference, co-hosted by China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE) and Changchun Municipal People's Government, was held in Changchun on February 25-26. The Conference fully implemented the spirit of the CPC 20th National Congress and the Central Economic Working Conference. Leaders from the National Manufacturing Strategy Advisory Committee, comrades from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, business representatives, experts and scholars sought opportunities and cooperation through interaction between government, industry, university, research and application, so as to promote the high-quality development of the industrial economy.

Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress and former Honorary Chairman of the China Federation of Industrial Economics, attended the event and delivered a speech. Li Yizhong, Chairman of the China Federation of Industrial Economics, gave a keynote report via video. Lu Yaohua, Executive Vice-Chairman of China Federation of Industrial Economics, Zhang Zhijun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, and Li Guoqiang, Vice Governor of Jilin Province, attended the main forum and respectively delivered the welcome speech. Witnessed by the leaders and guests participating in the Conference, the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement of China Federation of Industrial Economics on All-round Support for Changchun to Accelerate the Revitalization and Breakthrough of Old Industrial Bases in Northeast China was officially signed.

China Industrial Economy Annual Conference is the most influential and leading comprehensive industrial annual forum in the field of industrial economy across the country, which has been successfully held for three times so far. The Fourth Annual Conference was held in Changchun in the form of the First China Industrial Economy Summit Forum, highlighting the theme of "seizing the essence of Chinese modernisation and the current opportunities for high-quality industrial development". By the main forum and two parallel forums on industrial digitalization and industrial chain innovation, the Conference has brought together elites from all walks of life and built the exchange platform to create a new ecology for development by industrial convergence, with higher level, broader coverage and greater influence.

Changchun is the city that lays the industrial foundation of new China, as well as an important old industrial base. In recent years, we have deeply implemented the important directions and requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping on "strengthening and improving the real economy, especially the manufacturing industry" and conscientiously implemented the high-quality development strategy of "one pillar and six pairs" put forward by the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee. Also, guided by the construction of the modern Changchun metropolitan area, we plan to promote the "city linkage in six areas" and focus on building "1 trillion" and "6 hundred billion" industrial clusters, so as to accelerate the progress from a large industrial city to a strong industrial city. Zhang Zhijun said in his speech that in the next step, Changchun will anchor the goal for constructing a strong manufacturing country and develop and strengthen itself based on the industry. Focusing on the innovation chain deployed by the industrial chain, Changchun will strengthen and stabilize the industrial chain and actively carry out the "go upstairs" project for the automobile industry cluster, so as to promote the deep integration of information technology with industrialization. We will work with business men to jointly build a sound industrial ecology, deepen the "four services", promote the "four projects" for government affairs, rule of law, market and factors environment construction, and we will work together to create a better future.
