Delegation Led by Consul General Broughton Robertson of Australia to Shenyang Visits CCFAO

The delegation led by Consul General Broughton Robertson of Australia to Shenyang, together with Han Shuo, Commercial Officer of Trade and Investment Commission of Australia, visited Changchun Foreign Affairs Office on January 27, 2022. Deputy Director Ou Shuo of CCFAO met with the delegation. 

Broughton Robertson will leave office in February this year. Before returning home, he visited CCFAO. At the meeting, Deputy Director Ou Shuo first thanked Broughton Robertson for his strong support for Changchun City since he took the post as consul general of Australia to Shenyang. The friendly cooperation and exchanges between Australia and Changchun boast of a long history. In 2013, Warrnambool and Changchun became sister cities. The two sides have maintained long-term mutual benefits in such fields as culture, education, economy and trade. “CCFAO is willing to bring into full play the role as a coordinator and facilitator to make the intensions of cooperation between the two sides into reality,” said Ou Shuo, adding, “In 2022, CCFAO will continue to explore post-pandemic activities both online and offline to promote Australian alcohol and dairy products.” The two sides are also said to have further talks on visa, investment service in the city. 

“Confronted with the pandemic, the Australian Consulate General in Shenyang overcame the shortage of staff members, served as a bridge for Australia’s cooperation and exchanges with the three provinces in Northeast China, and promoted the development of Australia’s consular affairs, investment and cooperation in China. With advantages supplementary to each, we shall have further discussions in beef cattle breeding, pharmaceutical industry, agricultural technology, etc. In accordance with the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement and the RCEP, the Consulate General of Australia in Shenyang will work well on consular certification, policy consultation and promotion of RCEP projects so as to continue to promote the cooperation between Australia and China,” said Broughton Robertson.   

The officials of American and Oceanian affairs of CCFAO joined the meeting.
