The 1st Anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Inspection Trip to FAW and Meeting on Report of Achievements in Innovation and Releasing of FAW’s “14th Five-Year Plan” Development Planning Outline and Strategy of Innovation in Technologies were held on July 15, 2021. Jing Junhai, Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, and Han Jun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Governor of Jilin Province, attended and addressed the meeting. 

On behalf of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Jilin Province, Jing Junhai extended his congratulations on what FAW had achieved in reform and development, saying, “On the occasion of the first anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s inspection trip to FAW, we gather here for FAW’s achievements in innovation and prospects for future development, which is of great significance for us to ‘resolutely uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and resolutely uphold the Party Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership’, and take the responsibility of revitalizing development and unite the forces of gratitude and striving for progress. We must thoroughly implement the spirit of the important speeches and instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection trip to Jilin, firmly grasp the historical opportunities of revolutionary changes to automotive industry, follow the law of technological development and market consumption, strive for improvement in independent innovation, optimize industrial ecosystem, and firmly support FAW’s creation of a world-class enterprise and government-enterprise joint effort to explore a new road of development for automobile industry. Firstly, unremitting efforts should be made to strive for innovation, higher learning institutions, research institutes and key enterprises should join hands to break bottlenecks of core technologies, create modern automotive industrial chains, supply chains, brand chains, value chains and innovative ecological rims. Secondly, all involved should do the best to build up brands, and strive to upgrade brands, products and services to make such national brands as Hong Qi, Bestune and Jiefang bigger and stronger and thus become a member of first-class car brands. Thirdly, coordinated development should be promoted for congregation. Efforts should be made to speed up the formation of a complete and improved system for upstream and downstream industries, and an internationally competitive automotive industrial chain. Fourthly, all involved should put in high gear for expansion of aggregate, continue forging ahead and unswervingly strive for the fulfilment of all tasks of production and sale. The CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Jilin Province will do as usual the best to support the reform and development of FAW and the new progress and glory in the course of development of national automobile industry.” 

Han Jun stressed that we should always bear in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s entrustment, firmly carry forward the great mission of revitalizing the automobile industry of the nation, seize the new development opportunities for automotive industry, give full support to FAW’s reform and development, strive to master core technologies, expand and strengthen national automobile brands, and create a world-class enterprise to contribute to the maximum the competitiveness of the automobile industry of the country. In addition, efforts should be made to promote the rise of “Hong Qi”, maintain the advantage of “Jiefang”, accelerate the cultivation of “Bestune”, and strive to lead the development of automobile industry of the world. We should fully implement all support policies, and provide all-weather, zero-distance, and specialized services so as to create a top-notch environment for FAW’s reform and development and thus become a role model for central-local cooperation. 

Xu Liuping, Secretary of the Party committee and President of FAW Group, released the Outline of Development Planning and Strategy of Innovation in Technologies of FAW Group during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Qiu Xiandong, General Manager of FAW Group, Presided over the meeting at which the Agreement on Major Sci-Tech Cooperation of Changchun City and Jilin Province in FAW’s Independent Innovation was signed and the report on FAW’s achievements in innovation was delivered.
