The annual meeting of Changchun Consultation Association of International Friends concluded with success at Wanda Vista Changchun Thursday morning on December 17, 2020.  

The annual meeting was held as stipulated in the constitution of the association. The secretariat made a report on the economic development of Changchun City in the first three quarters of this year and the establishment of medical treatment platforms for international friends in Changchun City. The participants agreed upon the increase in the number of presidents and members and the result of newly elected presidents and members of the association. Xue Zhichun, Director General of Changchun Foreign Affairs Office (CCFAO), presented letters of appointment to the members elected at the meeting.

The participants shared their ideas and suggestions on how to operate the association, promote the development of local economy under the normalization of epidemic control and prevention, and optimize the establishment of medical treatment platforms for international friends in Changchun City. The meeting was declared close by Frank Pitzner, new president of the association.  

The association, which was founded in May 2019 under the guidance of CCFAO and Changchun Municipal People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the integration of resources of international friends in Changchun City, is meant to work as an advisor to the competent authorities in charge of such work as investment attraction, international exchanges and expanding opening up of Changchun City. The meeting, the first of its kind held under the background of epidemic control prevention in the city, is an important initiative to promote the resumption of work and production, and more importantly it is also a forceful effort in exploring international cooperation and exchanges under the new pattern of “dual circulation” for the development of economy.
