Wang Kai, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, met the delegation of German guests led by former member of Bundestag, former director general of parliamentary group, CDU and former mayor of Trier, who came to attend the “China-Germany Urbanization Seminar”, Monday evening on October 28, 2019.

Wang Kai, on behalf of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and the People’s Government of Changchun City, congratulated on the opening of the 7th China-Germany Urbanization Seminar held in Changchun City, extended his warm welcome to the delegation, and introduced the socioeconomic development of Changchun City, saying, “In recent years, the frequent high-level mutual visits between China and Germany have pointed out the direction for us to deepen local cooperation and exchanges. Changchun is located in the geographically geometric center of Northeast Asia. It is an important window for the opening and construction of “Belt and Road” Initiative to the north. We are now thoroughly implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the revitalization of Northeast China, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of industries, and building a modern metropolis circle in Changchun City. We hope the seminar will serve as an opportunity to strengthen the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in various fields including urbanization so as to achieve more practical results that can benefit the people of the two countries.”

“The history and traditional characteristics of your city are very impressive. We would like to take this seminar as an opportunity to exchange experience in urbanization with our Chinese counterparts, learn from each other and enhance our cooperation,” said Mr. Bernhard Kaster, the head of the delegation.

Among the officials invited to the meeting also included Ma Yanfeng and Jia Lina as well as the leaders of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Foreign Affairs Office of Jilin Province.
