As winter sets in, temperatures continue to drop. Key projects in Changchun New Area remain in full swing, with construction ongoing despite the cold. As a major priority for Jilin Province, Changchun City, and Changchun New Area, Phase II of the Chang Guang Satellite Aerospace Information Industrial Park project (hereinafter referred to as "the Project") has reached a key milestone.

"At present, the four podium buildings in Phase II of the Project have been substantially completed, and the steel structure of the main building's core tube has been constructed up to the 18th floor above ground," said a project construction official. Phase II of the Project primarily comprises one main building and four podium buildings. The main building's core tube will have 20 floors above ground and two floors underground.

Located in the Beihu Development Zone of Changchun New Area, the Project spans a total site area of approximately 216,000 square meters and is being constructed in two phases. It is bounded by Guangji Road to the north, Shengbeixiao Street to the east, Shengbei Street to the west, and Mingxi Road to the south.

Phase I of the Project occupies a land area of 136,000 square meters with a total floor area of 97,300 square meters. Its main facilities include workshops for optical processing, camera assembly and calibration, satellite integration, and environmental testing, as well as a dedicated data center and supporting infrastructure. The project has established state-of-the-art facilities for satellite production, testing, experimentation, and data reception, storage, and processing. Completed and commissioned in 2018, it now boasts an annual production capacity of 200 remote sensing satellites.

Phase II of the Project spans a land area of 80,000 square meters, with a total planned floor area of 135,000 square meters. The total investment amounts to RMB 4.5 billion, including RMB 900 million allocated for construction and RMB 3.6 billion for equipment. The main facilities comprise a satellite command and control center, a data processing center, a data storage center, an optical processing center, alongside other auxiliary facilities. The project is designed to accommodate 2,500 people.

Upon operation, Phase II of the Project is expected to generate an annual output value of RMB 2 billion and create 2,000 new jobs. It will fully establish an industrial ecosystem for the application of aerospace remote sensing data, enabling the reception, storage, production, and distribution of massive data. It will also build an intelligent, large-scale production base for remote sensing data, delivering space-air-ground integrated remote sensing information products to serve a market of 7 billion people worldwide.
