IV. Project Profile and Construction Content

The project covers a land area of 350,000 square meters and a construction period of 2-3 years. According to the planning of “two areas and two centers”, the project is mainly for the construction of an ice and snow leisure and sport area including small-scale ski field (grass ski), lake ice field, ice and snow art and leisure and sport events, ice hockey (curling) field, etc.; a summer leisure and sport area, including golf field, tennis court, equestrian training field, RV self-driving camp, forest trail, outward bound camp, Alice’s Wonderland (parent-child experience); a trade center for special local products, ice and snow equipment exhibition and sale, shopping center, etc.; a comprehensive service center, including tourism distribution (travel in surrounding areas or within the province, outbound tourism, transportation, ticketing and insurance), local snack street, food plaza, winery, business club, cabin camp, resort hotel (4 stars), hot spring hotel, snow view hotel (like the North American Time) and other comprehensive supportive services. Upon completion, it will drive the relevant industries in the region to achieve an output value of more than RMB2 billion. In a period of 5-10 years, it is expected to become a leisure and tourism destination in Changchun City and a culture and tourism distribution center in Jilin Province, which in turn will promote the development of sport, health, culture and tourism industries of Changchun City and Jilin Province.

V. Analysis of Market Prospect

Social construction is closely related to people’s well-being and happiness. It is of great significance to improving, safeguarding people’s livelihood and meeting their demand for quality life. A new round of fitness and health preservation upsurge has now arrived. The concepts of caring for life, enjoying life, advocating sport and returning to nature have become the pursuits of more people, which in turn has fostered fashion, sport and leisure and thus brought about a huge market demand. In this context, sport and leisure have become a powerful engine of great power for economic growth, and created a large number of economic forms and industrial systems mainly supported by tourism, entertainment, service and culture, thereby becoming the source of power and engine for economic development.

The comlex, in combination with the industrial development of culture, tourism, leisure and sport especially the fast-growing advantages of the two core industries, namely, summer leisure and ice/snow tourism of Changchun City, and on the basis of the unique advantages of of Changchun Airport Economy Development Zone including geographical location, multi-layer transportation and natural resources, can not only give full play the solid industrial foundation of sport and the rich atmosphere for public sport of Changchun City but also help have sport and leisure combined in a perfect manner. Meanwhile, it can make full use of the advantage of being close to such scenic areas as “Mt. Miaoxiang”, “Mt. Lianhua” and “Shitoukoumen Reservoir” to make up for the lack of supportive resources of these tourist destinations being far from city proper so as to be supplementary, coordinative to these places. The complex is meant to create “mountains and rivers of sport, city of sport, sport-based games, tourism, sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, party, communication, fashion and culture” and further improve and congregate the attractiveness and influence of the Airport Economy Development Zone and Changchun New Area.
