In the Beihu Science and Technology Development Zone of Changchun New Area, a new factory carrying the hopes of China's OLED industry is under construction. This site houses the Changchun headquarters of Jilin OLED Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jilin OLED), and also stands as a witness to China's OLED industry's journey from "chasing the light" to "creating the light."

On November 13, reporters visited Jilin OLED's production base in Changchun.  Inside the workshops, machines were operating rapidly as technicians manned the equipment, with batches of organic light-emitting materials moving orderly down the production lines.

Founded in June 2005, Jilin OLED officially landed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market on September 3, 2020, becoming the first company from Jilin Province to be listed on this board. Committed to tackling "bottleneck" technologies and promoting domestic substitution, the company primarily focuses on the R&D and manufacturing of key materials and equipment for the upstream segment of the OLED industry chain in the new display sector, establishing itself as a leader in this niche field.

In terms of industrial layout, Jilin OLED has operations in both Shanghai and Changchun, breaking through foreign technological blockades in organic light-emitting materials, encapsulation materials, PSPI materials, and evaporation sources. Wang Kang, the R&D director of Jilin OLED, stated that in the field of organic light-emitting materials, the company has achieved bulk supply to major well-known flat-panel display manufacturers in China, with a domestic market share ranking among the top in the industry. The company's independently developed "OLED thin-film encapsulation material" boasts performance  on a par with international standards and has been supplied in bulk to downstream flat-panel display enterprises, achieving import substitution for this product.

In the field of evaporation source equipment, Jilin OLED has broken through foreign technological barriers, strengthened competitiveness in core technology, and successfully achieved independent research and development, industrialization, and import substitution of this key component.

Currently, Jilin OLED's products are stably supplied to domestic leading panel manufacturers such as BOE and CSOT, achieving full coverage of mainstream domestic panel enterprises. Its materials and equipment are applied in terminal products of internationally renowned brands such as Apple and Huawei.

"Building on its existing technological achievements, the company is actively expanding into businesses such as G8.6 AMOLED linear evaporation sources, small-scale deposition machines, perovskite deposition machines, and low-temperature color photoresists." In February this year, Jilin OLED successfully secured the bid for BOE's G8.6 AMOLED production line project, demonstrating that its 8.6-generation linear evaporation source technology has reached industry-leading levels.

Through years of accumulation and innovation, Jilin OLED has applied for over 1,000 technical patents and formed a complete set of technological systems and R&D processes, providing solid technological support for the company's sustainable development. In the future, Jilin OLED will continue to deepen its commitment to innovation and strive to break through more critical technological bottlenecks.
