Wang Zilian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Changchun City, inspected the China (Changchun)-ROK International Cooperation Demonstration Zone on July 6, 2021. Wang stressed the importance of conscientiously carrying out the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech delivered on July 1 and the important speeches and instructions made by General Secretary Xi during his inspection trip to Jilin, accelerating the integration into the new development pattern of “dual circulation”, being good at following the general trend, being bold in innovation, expanding cooperation and exchanges with other countries, accelerating industrial congregation and empowering the high-quality development of the city. 

At such places as China-ROK Northern Pharmaceutical Trading Center, live streamline base and commodity exhibition center, Wang Zilian pointed out that all involved should fully rely on the advantages of resources to make characteristic industries bigger and stronger, strengthen platform functions, increase promotional efforts, and fully demonstrate the characteristics of Jilin Northern Pharmaceuticals, seize the new opportunities of live streamline e-commerce, focus on cultivating talents in the field and thus accelerate the cultivation of new industrial power. 

The Pavilion for China-ROK Cities is a super large platform to show ROK’s politics, ecology, industry, science and technology, humanities, etc. At present, the main project has been completed, and the internal exhibition is being organized. Wang Zilian indicated that it’s of importance to getting connected with the major national, regional development strategies, deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and making mutual benefits and win-win results at higher level. 

The industrial innovation base of China (Changchun)-ROK International Cooperation Demonstration Zone has so far attracted the settlement of more than 10 domestic well-known enterprises. Wang Zilian pointed out that it’s necessary to further clarify the positioning, enhance the pertinence and effectiveness of investment attraction, and let industries and development power gather rapidly. At the Changchun Prefabricated Construction Industrial Park, Wang Zilian pointed out that efforts should be put into promoting industrial standardization and large-scale development, reducing costs and enhancing the competitiveness of products. 

During the inspection, Wang Zilian stressed that opening up and cooperation and getting integrated into the Belt and Road Initiative should be prioritized, and cooperation and exchanges with ROK and other Northeast Asian countries be strengthened to create a new highland opening up and cooperation for Northeast Asia. All involved should target on key points in investment attraction, be bold in innovation, strive to usher in a number of major projects and well-known enterprises, and build an industrial cluster with international competitiveness. In addition, it’s necessary to create a first-class market-oriented, legalized and internationalized business environment, attract more enterprises to come for investment and development, and thus provide a strong guarantee for the comprehensive, all-round revitalization of Changchun City.
