The "Four New" Industrial Clusters in Changchun New Area Take Shape, Driving Overall Development
Recently, in Changchun New Area, the roar of machinery echoes through industrial parks, research thrives in laboratories, and key project construction sites are alive with activity. This fertile ground for innovation, anchored in a high-quality development trajectory and driven by new quality productive forces, is advancing the parallel and clustered growth of the "four new" industries—new energy, new equipment, new materials, and new medicine. From breakthrough leadership of flagship enterprises to iterative upgrades of industrial chains, from the monetization of scientific and technological achievements to the sustained release of green momentum, Changchun New Area is solidly building an industrial powerhouse, injecting robust energy into the comprehensive revitalization of Jilin Province.

Forward-Looking Layout of the New Energy Industry
In 2025, the new site of the Jilin Provincial Hydrogen Energy Industry Comprehensive Research Institute officially opened, injecting fresh vitality into the hydrogen energy sector in Changchun New Area. The area has now gathered over 30 hydrogen energy and related companies, covering key links across the entire industrial chain. With a focus on new energy storage, an integrated wind-solar-hydrogen-alcohol-storage system is being planned. By 2026, the New Area will prioritize grid-side energy storage power station projects led by companies such as HyperStrong and Universal Energy. Once completed, these projects will significantly enhance power supply reliability and reduce curtailment of wind and solar power. The photovoltaic integrated glass production line in the Changchun Green New Materials Industrial Park is progressing steadily, with an expected annual output value of 2.5 billion yuan upon reaching full capacity. By introducing green electricity and innovative business models, the New Area is continuously lowering corporate energy costs and striving to build a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system.

New Equipment Building New Development Advantages
Over the past year, Changchun New Area has focused on new energy and intelligent connected vehicles as its main drivers, while achieving breakthroughs in four major equipment sectors: ice and snow, elderly care, education, and agricultural machinery. Relying on leading enterprises such as FAW Besturn, the Area has tackled core technologies, promoted end-to-end intelligent and digital transformation, and set a target for related sectors to account for over 80% of output value by the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Precision investment attraction has yielded significant results, with over 20 key projects signed and launched throughout the year. Flagship projects, including the State Power Investment Corporation's "1+6" cluster and the Milkground Smart Factory, are accelerating toward operation. At the same time, the Area is driving an intelligent and green industrial transformation, promoting "5G + Industrial Internet" applications, planning to build over 10 national-level smart factories, and steadily releasing synergistic effects that strengthen and supplement industrial chains.

Continuous Leap in the Brand Competitiveness of the New Medicine Industry
As the core hub of biomedicine in Changchun City, by 2025, Changchun New Area had gathered approximately 940 pharmaceutical and health companies, with the full industrial chain scale exceeding 50 billion yuan, maintaining its top ranking in comprehensive competitiveness among biomedical parks in Northeast China. Leading enterprises are at the forefront of innovation: Changchun High-Tech remains in the first tier of national pharmaceutical innovators, while Gensci Pharmaceutical has launched new products and achieved a global breakthrough with its core products, securing milestone payments totaling $1.365 billion. Companies such as BCHT Biotechnology and the Changchun Institute of Biological Products have made multiple breakthroughs, with several vaccines and medical products filling domestic gaps or reaching internationally advanced levels. By collaborating with Yongchun Pharmaceutical City, deepening synergies, advancing multiple projects, and showcasing achievements through exhibition platforms, Changchun New Area is striving to build a nationally renowned innovation base for the biopharmaceutical industry.

Breakthroughs in the New Materials Industry
The Changchun Beihu Fine Chemical and New Materials Industrial Demonstration Park, the province's first newly built Class D safety risk chemical park, now hosts the Strategic New Materials R&D Building and 10 industrial projects from companies such as Startwell and BNC Technologies. Its pilot-scale and commercialization bases accommodate 12 pilot-scale projects from Jilin University and the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, along with 16 small-scale production projects. By adopting innovative cooperation models, the park has attracted high-end talent, including the team led by Academician Chen Xuesi, achieving a post-pilot commercialization rate of 50% to 80%. Products such as high-abundance boron-10 isotopes and medical-grade PEEK resin are now produced at scale, breaking foreign monopolies. Over the past year, Changchun New Area has built a complete "R&D–Manufacturing–Application" industrial chain, promoted resource sharing among enterprises within the park, and expanded application scenarios in collaboration with local industries, strengthening the industrial development ecosystem.
Today, the "four new" industries in Changchun New Area are driving holistic development through the power of clustering. Moving forward, the Area will continue deepening the integration of technological innovation and industry, focusing on the high end of industrial and value chains, and laying a solid foundation for revitalization with stronger momentum and more concrete actions—writing a new chapter in the comprehensive revitalization of Jilin Province.
