The project FAW Faway Intelligent Industrial Park to be invested with RMB1 billion was started as a new facilitator for the construction of Changchun International Automobile City on May 9, 2021. Zhang Zhijun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Mayor of Changchun City, and Qiu Xiandong, General Manager of FAW, attended the foundation stone laying ceremony. 

The project covers a land area of 180,000 square meters. The plant can be completed by the end of this year, and then go operational in the year end, with an annual production capacity of 1.7 million seat assemblies and 1.1 million seat frame assemblies for FAW Hong Qi, FAW-VW, Besturn and FAW-Toyota, etc. The construction of the project is not only an important measure taken to reduce production costs, enhance market competitiveness and complement industrial chains but also a strategic layout to promote intensive development of products as well as transformation and upgrading of technologies. For the promotion of this project, all departments involved in Changchun Auto Industry Development Zone have provided active services for project settlement, site selection and land acquisition so as to ensure the project can be started, get settled and go operational at the earliest possible time.
