On August 26, the 8th China Shuangyang Sika Deer Festival themed by "Integrating Green and Selecting Health" kicked off in Shuangyang District, Changchun City. It integrated Shuangyang sika deer with local cultural tourism resources to present a multi-carrier, multi-form and multi-scene event, consisting of 9 activities such as the Shuangyang Deer Industry Summit Forum, the selection of star-rated deer farms and enterprises, the selection of Miss Deer and Deer Town, the Travel in Deer Town - Check-in Spots for Online Celebrities, and the "Deer in a Spring Morning" collection of calligraphy, painting and photography works.

This year's Sika Deer Festival will last until September 11. During the event, a number of museums such as the China Meihua Deer Museum, the Manchurian Medicine Museum, and the Prosperous Totem Horse Culture Museum will be open to the public for free, and scenic sites (spots) such as the Shenlu Peak Tourist Resort and Donglong Resort will launch a series of preferential activities, thus showcasing the new development status quo of Shuangyang as a destination for "micro holiday in Jilin and new weekend in Changchun".

As the hometown of sika deer in China, Shuangyang District has adhered to the leadership of the provincial deer-oriented modern agricultural industrial park, and continuously developed the standardized breeding and intensive processing of sika deer in recent years. The industry has witnessed a growing scale and more prominent advantages. The district is now home to 13,000 deer-raising households, who are keeping 310,000 heads of deer to yield an annual throughput of 7000t of by-products and an industrial value of over RMB 7 billion. Shuangyang has become the largest sika deer breeding base and the largest distribution center for deer by-products in China. In the next step, Shuangyang District will insist on strengthening the tertiary sector, boosting the secondary sector, and promoting the primary sector, strive to build five bases for "scaled breeding, fine-variety breeding, intensive processing, branding and sales, and characteristic culture development" of sika deer, accelerate the establishment of the traceability system and identification system of sika deer, and scientifically formulate processing standards and pricing standards for deer by-products, thereby making every effort to build a nationwide distribution center for sika deer products and famous and high-quality specialty products of Northeast China, and help build a "hundred-billion-level sika deer industry" in the province.
