Recently, the Jilin Grain Brand Development Conference was held in Changchun. Hu Yuting, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Governor of Jilin Province, attended the event and delivered a speech. Liu Huanxin, Member of the CPC Leadership Group of the National Development and Reform Commission and Administrator of the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, addressed the conference. Among those in attendance were Liu Wei, Vice Governor of Jilin Province; Gu Gang, Mayor of Changchun City; and Hong Qing, Secretary-General of Jilin Provincial People's Government.

On behalf of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Jilin Provincial People's Government, Hu first extended a warm welcome to the guests. He noted that since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping has inspected Jilin Province four times, assigning the province the mission of serving as a "forerunner" in advancing modern agriculture and an "anchor" for ensuring stable grain production and supply. Themed around "Green, Safety, Health, and Sharing," the conference stands as both Jilin Province's concrete practice in thoroughly implementing the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and a pragmatic measure to advance rural revitalization and increase rural incomes, thereby sounding the clarion call for the province to leap forward as a powerhouse in the grain industry.

Hu Yuting stated that Jilin Province is an essential national base for commodity grain production and a core area for the national food security strategy, historically reputed as the "granary of the nation." In recent years, Jilin has thoroughly implemented the food crop production strategy based on farmland management and the application of technology. By enhancing the integrated efficiency of high-standard farmland, superior seed varieties, advanced agricultural machinery, and modern farming practices, the province has comprehensively promoted tech-driven, green, quality-oriented, and brand-building agriculture, continuously fostering the "Jilin branded" product matrix. Consequently, Jilin rice has topped the list of "China's most influential brands of grain and oil" for seven consecutive years; Jilin corn is hailed as the "giant panda of corn"; and its fresh corn, as well as assorted grains and beans, is highly favored by the market. "Jilin Grain" has become synonymous with a high-quality life. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), Jilin Province will make profound efforts to extend the industrial chain from grain to food, from livestock to meat, and from agriculture to manufacturing. The province aims to push its grain output beyond 50 million metric tons, elevate the output value of the agricultural processing industry to a trillion-yuan scale, and double the output value of "Jilin branded" grain, thereby accelerating its development into a high-level powerhouse in the grain industry. It will carry out brand enhancement initiatives, deepen the quality certification of the "JizhiJipin" regional brand, and forge high-end grain business cards with international influence. Industrial upgrading actions will also be rolled out through the cultivation and strengthening of leading enterprises, the optimization of the grain and oil processing system, the development of high-quality contract farming, and the diversification of staple-food products with high added value, ensuring that premium grain of Jilin Province makes a greater contribution to securing China's food supply. People in Jilin Province hope that entrepreneurs, experts, and scholars will join hands with them to forge ahead on the new journey of "Jilin Grain Revitalization," demonstrate the new responsibilities of the "northern granary," and jointly break new ground in the high-quality development of grain industry in Jilin Province.

At the conference, experts and scholars, including Li Jiayang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered keynote speeches. Cities of Changchun, Siping, Songyuan, and Baicheng promoted their brands. In addition, the conference released the evaluations for provincial public grain brands, geographical indication brands, and corporate brands of Jilin grain. Jilin rice was awarded the title of "Geographical Indication Brand of China National Radio: Industry Demonstration Benchmark." The conference also announced the formal establishment of the Scientific and Technological Innovation Expert Committee of Jilin Grain Industry.
