Mobilization Meeting Held for Third Changchun International Optoelectronic Expo
Host the "One Exhibition, Two Conferences" with High Standards, Quality, and Efficiency, Accelerating the Building of an Internationally competitive "Optoelectronics City of China"
On February 25, a mobilization and deployment meeting was held for the Third Changchun International Optoelectronic Expo·Light Conference, and the Changchun Academic Conference of the Chinese Optical Society. The meeting emphasized the need to implement the municipal party committee's directive to ensure the event "improves with each edition" and to host the "One Expo, Two Conferences" with high standards, quality, and efficiency. This initiative aims to accelerate the development of Changchun into an internationally competitive "Optoelectronics City of China." The meeting was attended by Wang Zhihou, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, and Mayor Gu Gang, both of whom delivered speeches.
The Third Changchun International Optoelectronic Expo is scheduled to take place from June 12 to 14. During the meeting, attendees reviewed the comprehensive preparation plan, the specific task force arrangements, and the progress made in exhibitor recruitment and exhibition layout.
Wang Zhihuo stressed the following points: First, it is essential to deepen understanding and have a long-term perspective, thoroughly implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important instructions on the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China and the work in Jilin Province. It is also crucial to earnestly implement the provincial party committee's decision to accelerate the construction of the "Optoelectronics City of China" and the municipal party committee's decision to expedite the establishment of a modern industrial system featuring "three transformations, four strengths, and seven new sectors." The goal is to effectively convert Changchun's comparative advantages into tangible developmental and competitive strengths. Second, it is important to focus on key areas and ensure effective implementation. This involves leveraging the event for investment attraction, industry promotion, talent introduction, and brand building, emphasizing professionalism, market orientation, and internationalization. Efforts should be intensified to attract investment, strengthen the optoelectronic information industry chain, and facilitate the local translation of scientific and technological achievements, thereby building a strong brand for the "Optoelectronics City of China," as well as for the business environment and opening up. Third, it is necessary to assign responsibilities and foster collaboration. The leadership responsibilities of the "top leaders" of all member units should be strengthened, ensuring that individual work plans are formulated, task implementation is itemized, specific implementation is streamlined, and overall coordination is institutionalized. A comprehensive, multi-dimensional promotional campaign is essential to generate significant momentum and visibility for the expo.
Gu Gang emphasized that all departments at all levels should strengthen coordination and ensure effective implementation. This requires seamless collaboration across key areas, including exhibitor recruitment, event organization, service support, and safety management, to ensure thorough preparations for the Third Expo. The focus must remain on enhancing quality and efficiency by fully utilizing the resources of universities, research institutes, and leading enterprises. This will enable targeted exhibitor recruitment and effective industry-academia collaboration, thereby elevating the expo's academic standing and professional impact. The expo should be organically integrated and advanced in tandem with the construction of Changchun's modern metropolitan area and major events such as the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade and the Changchun Air Show, maximizing synergistic effects. It is crucial to seize opportunities and empower development by targeting the main direction of the optoelectronic information industry, optimizing spatial layout, and accelerating the implementation of key projects. Strengthening connections with innovative resources from universities and research institutes, accelerating the local transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and providing practical support to local enterprises should be prioritized to expand the scale and enhance the capabilities of Changchun's optoelectronic information sector.
