The Information Office of Changchun Municipal People's Government held a press conference, at which the 21st Changchun International Auto Expo was planned to be held from July 13 to 22, 2024, at the Northeast Asia International Expo Center in Changchun.

 

I. Schedule

 

July 13: Media Day;

 

July 14: Professional Visitors Day;

 

July 15-22: General Visitors Days.

 

II. Theme, Purpose, and Positioning

 

Theme: "Leading the Future with New Quality"

 

Purpose: "To create distinctive brands, showcase auto culture, promote integration and innovation, and drive industry development".

 

Positioning: To build itself as a world-class auto show and a large-scale, professional, market-oriented, and international event, the expo will keep pace with the development trend of the auto industry, fully display new products and technologies in the industrial chain, promote the deep integration of the industry with intelligent technologies, and facilitate the transformation and upgrading of the industry towards green, low-carbon, and intelligent development. The event is bound to further enhance the reputation and influence of Changchun as an international auto city and inject new momentum into the development of Changchun's auto industry.

 

III. Exhibition Layout

 

The expo will adopt a mode of "main venue + sub-venues" and "online + offline" exhibitions.

 

The main venue is located at the Northeast Asia International Expo Center in Changchun, covering an exhibition area of 170,000 square meters, with seven major exhibition areas. Including:

 

Hall A1: Independent and New Energy Brands Hall

 

Hall A2: Luxury and New Energy Brands Hall

 

Hall A3: China FAW Hall

 

Hall C: Comprehensive Auto Brands Hall

 

Second Floor: Auto Service Supplies Exhibition Area

 

Outdoor: Special Vehicle Exhibition Area and Interactive Experience Area

 

Two Sub-venues: Located at Yongchun Trendy Play Park and Camping Park, and Jihua Park Race Track, featuring activities such as the Auto Culture Life Festival and auto sports. Online Exhibition: Relying on the "Online Auto Expo" app to achieve "cloud exhibition", "cloud live broadcast", "cloud release", and "cloud services".

 

IV. Main Activities

 

To highlight the rich cultural atmosphere of the Changchun Auto Expo and make it a festival for the citizens, the following unique supporting activities will be held during the expo:

 

1. Opening Ceremony of the Auto Expo & Auto Sales Promotions;

 

2. 21st Changchun International Auto Expo Summit;

 

3. 2024 Summer Auto Culture Life Festival;

 

4. National Auto Industry Release Activities;

 

5. Interactive Experience Activities for New Energy Intelligent Driving Technology.

 

V. Main Features

 

The expo will present the following features:

 

1. More diverse exhibited vehicle models: The expo will feature various vehicle models, including fuel vehicles, new energy vehicles, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and special vehicles. A total of 124 companies are invited to display 1,100 vehicles, with the number of new energy vehicles expected to exceed 300 for the first time. Many manufacturers, such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, FAW Group, and GAC Group will participate with high specifications. The number of international A-level booths is set to reach 85%, representing an increase of 2% year-on-year. During the expo, there will be frequent "first launch, debut, first exhibition, and first sales" activities. FAW Group will launch a world premiere vehicle, while dozens of new car models such as the Golden Sunflower series, Lamborghini's new supercar, and The Durant Guild's HUMMER EV will debut in Northeast China. Twelve new brands, including Lotus and Fangchengbao, will participate in the expo for the first time.

 

2. More advanced and innovative technology display: Intelligent vehicles integrating mechanical, electronic, computing, perceptive, audio-visual, energy storage, and other technologies, as well as new technologies from CATL, NIO Smart Power, and MDK's automatic wheel chassis, will be showcased at the expo. Centered on autonomous driving solutions, operating systems, chips, lidar, batteries, and other areas, the expo will comprehensively display cutting-edge technological achievements and the latest developments in the industrial chain.

 

3. More exciting supporting events: The Auto Culture Life Festival, a supporting activity of the expo, will include RV camping, outdoor display of auto brands, trunk market, and the Auto Expo Night. These activities will offer visitors a relaxed and enjoyable auto culture experience and showcase the positive impact of auto industrial development on modern lifestyles. Additionally, coordinated summer-themed activities with provincial and municipal cultural and tourism departments will take place to create "car +" and "exhibition +" platforms in various forms, themes, and scenarios. By doing so, Changchun will become a summer tourism destination in July, promoting the integration of cultural tourism and the exhibition industry.

 

4. More thoughtful viewing services: This year's Auto Expo will be held, for the first time, in a newly constructed exhibition hall, Northeast Asia International Expo Center in Changchun, which is built to international standards and aims to become the largest, most capable, and fully functional exhibition venue with the highest technological level in Northeast Asia. It is equipped with a leisure dining area for exhibitors and visitors, an access control system that adopts a "ticket and ID card dual system" to ensure smooth entry and exit for guests and visitors during the expo, and rest areas set up inside and outside the venue to provide visitors with a good rest environment.

 

To facilitate public viewing, the routes of three dedicated buses (Buses 202, 307, and 136) will be extended, with stops set at the entrance of the venue. There will be designated spots for ride-hailing cars and five parking lots around the venue. Moreover, shuttle buses will be available to transport visitors between Huaqing Road Station on Metro Lines 1 and 6 and the entrance to the Expo Center.

 

5. More value-for-money promotional activities: During the expo, car purchase vouchers combined with exhibitors' car sales promotions and other discounts will maximize benefits for the public and make car purchases more affordable.
