From January to October this year, FAW Jiefang maintained its leading position in the sales of heavy trucks and meanwhile achieved good environmental and social benefits due to its effort in building a green manufacturing system featuring low energy consumption and high energy efficiency. 

RMB35.66mn Realized in Energy Saving and Cost Reduction  

For energy saving, FAW Jiefang set a strategic goal of RMB36.31 million this year on the basis of fulfilling the internal control target of RMB35 million. 

To achieve the goal, FAW Jiefang implemented coating project EDRO, recycling project for waste gas from drying workshops, gas and air conditioning transformation project for coating of plastic parts, technical improvement for heating units, LED lighting, economical mode for air compressor stations, transformation of circulating water and application of super large energy-saving electric fans. In addition, FAW Jiefang’s manufacturing and logistics departments established “target, node and responsibility-oriented” working mechanisms. Up to now, FAW Jiefang has completed 115 energy-saving and cost reducing projects, making RMB35.66 million saved, accounting for more than 98% of the goal set the for the year. 

Twenty Environmental Protection Projects Underway  

This year, FAW Jiefang will promote the implementation of 20 environmental protection projects, including sewage station treatment, sludge drying, “nickel” detecting, new sewage detecting equipment, and online monitoring VOCs on which RMB17.342 million has been invested in total. 

In addition, FAW Jiefang installed necessary environmental protection and safety facilities in line with its production capacity, making energy consumption of its main production equipment reach the leading level of the industry. Following the concept of reducing pollution, realizing green production by laws and regulations for sustainable improvement under the guidance of the scientific outlook on development, and strengthening the target responsibility system of energy conservation and environmental protection, FAW Jiefang has made green production a reality. 

With environmental protection policies implemented one after another in the country, many enterprises have put unremitting efforts into realizing “green development”. FAW Jiefang has now become a role model in this regard. 

“Green Development” Concept Strengthened 

Up to now, FAW Jiefang has won seven honorary titles for green manufacturing, including national “Green Factory”, national “Green Supply Chain”, “Green Supply Chain” and “Green Factory” at provincial level. 

FAW Jiefang is one of the enterprises that has won the most awards on a provincial scale. In addition to FAW Jiefang, FAW Volkswagen, FAW Hongqi, FAW Besturn and other brands have contributed more and more constantly improved “green factories” and “green production lines”. In the future, FAW Group’s plants and brands will further strengthen the concept of “green development” and step up to a new level in green circular development and construction of green manufacturing systems.
