FAW-VW launched its environmentally friendly, innovative pilot plan on March 30, 2020. In the next three years, FAW-VW will attach more importance to having environmental protection closely combined with automobile industry, with more funds to be invested on new energy, energy saving and emission reduction to contribute to the development of eco-friendly technology and management mode of China’s automobile industry.  

The pilot plan launched this time focuses on 12 topics in five directions including environmental assessment of new energy vehicles, battery recycling, automobile pollution prevention and control, in-vehicle environmental health technology, popularization and dissemination of automobile environmental protection knowledge. It is meant to promote the development of environmentally friendly technology through setting up and financing key eco-friendly projects to encourage and guide all sectors of the society to invest and explore to solve the technical difficulties in the field of automotive environmental protection.  

The plan is also engaged in becoming a Seed Fund of financing for innovation in the new trend of corporate social responsibilities to direct the society to invest on automotive environmentally friendly technology and industry. In the next three years, FAW-VW will invest RMB15 million to propel the construction of ecological civilization and thus contribute to the fulfillment of such eco-friendly vision “clean waters and green mountains”. With the plan kick-started, FAW-VW will accept innovative proposals from competent universities and research institutes across the country.
