At the beginning of the new year and on the occasion of the successful closing of the 4th Plenary Session of the 13th Changchun Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Office of Hong Kong and Macau Affairs of the People’s Government of Changchun City organized the “New Year’s Consultative Meeting for the Members of Changchun Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference from Hong Kong and Macau and Special Overseas Representatives” on January 8, 2020. The party was organized as an effort to gather patriotic forces and overseas innovative and entrepreneurial talents, give full play to the unique advantages of Hong Kong and Macau and the innovative and entrepreneurial advantages of overseas compatriots in the new year 2020, seize the important opportunities of and join hands for the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, and thus make suggests for the revitalization and development of the old industrial base of Northeast China.  

At the meeting, Qi Guohua, Director of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs of the People’s Government of Changchun City, delivered a keynote speech. Wang Luda, Member and Standing Committee Member of Changchun Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference from Hong Kong and Macau, and Executive Director of Fraternity for the Members at Provincial Level from HKSAR, Lin Yingpei, Founding President of the Association of China Youth Progress Association, and Wang Zhigang, Vice President of the General Chamber of Jilin Province in Japan made suggestions and proposals. During the meeting, Wang Luda, Standing Committee Member of Changchun Municipal People’s Political Consultative Committee from Hong Kong and Macau, Zong Di, President of Hong Kong Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Development Association, Kuang Weiwen, President of Macau Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Wang Zhigang, Vice President of the General Chamber of Jilin Province in Japan, Han Jianyu, General Manager of Paris Yuetu International Co., Ltd., and Chen Jianfeng, President of Food Manufacturing Industry of Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong accepted interviews by Jilin Branch of China News Agency, CNR Jilin Channel, Phoenix TV and Hong Kong Commercial Daily shared their views and suggestions for the construction “Belt and Road” Initiative and the mode of cooperation with the motherland for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area .
