A feast of ice and snow is about to show the beauty of Jilin Province. The opening activity series for the 4th Snow Expo and the 23rd Changchun Ice and Snow Festival will be kick-started on December 12, 2019. In line with the theme of “Winter Olympics in Beijing ·Experience in Jilin Province”, 8 series and more than 600 activities of culture, tourism, sport and festive celebration will be organized during the exposition.  

The exhibition area of the forthcoming exposition is inside the Changchun International Convention and Exhibition Center, covering eight pavilions among which Pavilion 5 is for Changchun City, which is now in the process of preparation for the exhibition of achievements of Changchun City is such aspects as ice and snow resource, culture, tourism, science and technology. The trip for press reporters was arranged lately to explore the charm of Changchun City in this winter.  

Various Ice and Snow Highlights, Poverty Alleviation Achievements to be Showcased  

Inside the pavilion, one will know what to play, what to watch and where to visit for fun in this winter in Changchun City. Four ski resorts at Jingyue Lake, Mt. Miaoxiang, Mt. Lianhua Shimao and Mt. Tianding as well as other latest ice and snow products including Changchun Mt. Lianhua Ice and Snow World, Jingyue Snow World, Changchun Ice and Snow Sculpture World will be exhibited. In addition, the demonstration units for tourism in five regions including Jingyue, Shuangyang, Jiutai, Nong’an and Mt. Lianhua will also make their debuts at the exhibition. 

According to the planning, other scenic spots covering Lianhua Island Film and Television Leisure Culture Park, Northeast China Culture Park, Wanda’s Zhe You Shan, Changchun World Sculpture Park and Tianyi Hot Spring will be promoted at the exhibition during which travel agencies will work on site to help the visitors to choose travel routes and make plans of touring around the city. 

During the exposition, Snow Angel Model Competition for Kids, Outdoor CS, Little Ice and Snow Knights and other activities will also be organized, and all kinds of singing and dancing performances will be staged one after another every day. In addition, promotions of e-sport, COSPLAY will be held as well.  

City Life Endowed with Deep Connotation of Cultural Factors  

The exposition is the first of its kind after the integration of culture and tourism. The pavilion of Changchun City opens an area of 400 square meters to show the development achievements of various cultural units and fields at which a large number of interactive activities will also be organized.  

“This year, we will fully display the style of the pavilion of Changchun City from such aspects as exhibition, collection, social education, protection of cultural relics protection and archaeology, and carry out relevant activities to let more people know about the attractiveness of the city,” said the manager of the pavilion of Changchun City. In addition to basic information, hand shovels, exploratory shovels, UAV, archaeological investigation to collect specimens and others involved in the whole process of archeology will be put on show.  

In addition, field trips to the pavilion of Changchun City to see the process of restoration of cultural relics and print making will be arranged during the exposition.  

Intelligent Robots Provide Field “Service”, New Red Flag Car Model to Debut  

The organizing committee says people will not get dazzled in front of so many exhibits, and meanwhile the staff and commentators will not be made to overwork for such a large number of visitors because “Little White Intelligent Media Robots” will bring a lot of convenience for the exposition.  

The robots are able to receive voice commands and guide the visitors as instructed to tour around the exhibition. “The robot is very intelligent. In order to prepare for the exposition, we have input a large number of pictures, images and data into the system,” said the project manager, adding, “It can work as a guide and also it knows almost all the tourist attractions and scenic spots in Changchun City. It can not only introduce the characteristics of scenic spots for visitors but also recommend travel routes and itineraries.” 

At the venue, there is an exhibition area for the “Little White” Robots. 

Changchun is a city of automobile industry so automotive elements are indispensable inside the pavilion of Changchun City in which Red Flag SUV, E-HS3 and other models will be exhibited. The visitors who like the brand can visit Pavilion 6-Ice and Snow Driving to learn more the car models of Red Flag.  

The triumphal automobile center is a culture and tourism-based complex being built by Jindazhou Group. The center has many entertainment functions, such as auto theater, classic car display, RV camp, etc. The booth for the triumphal automobile center will promote in a systematic way the services, features and other information of the center. In addition, two classic cars will be exhibited at the center.  

Diversified Cultural and Creative Products, Intangible Cultural Heritages  

The pavilion of Changchun City is highlighted by cultural and creative elements. 

More than 70 square meters of exhibition area for tourist gifts has been set up inside the pavilion of Changchun City, which will focus on the exhibition of award-winning products including Delia Changchun Pastry, Zhong Zhi Jie Specialty Food and a series of knot products with ice and snow symbols as the main theme, including Shaman Totem, Corn Craft Painting, Northeast Ceramic Tile, Silk Man Model, Red Flag Car Model and other exquisite crafts. “In recent years, an increasing number of people have realized the uniqueness and artistry of ceramic tiles in Northeast China, which has in turn increased the value of such collection,” said the official of Changchun Municipal Bureau of Radio, TV and Tourism. As a kind of “Gift from Changchun City”, Northeast Ceramic Tile has its own important aesthetic significance and collection value. There is a kind of typical hot drink corn juice to be provided at the exhibition area.  

Near the main entrance of the pavilion of Changchun City, there is also an exhibition area for “intangible cultural heritages-dough sculpture and hand-made leather art”. The dough sculpture is developed on the basis of folk flour food, featuring all kinds of figures, animals and plants made of refined flour, glutinous rice flour, salt, preservatives and other raw materials. The hand-made leather is a traditional craft, which has been gradually marginalized with the development of the times. With more attentions paid to the traditional Chinese culture, more and more people are willing to try this craft. The masterpieces of famous artists will be exhibited at the intangible cultural heritage area in which the visitors can also participate in the production of dough sculpture and leather art. 

In addition, the famous 82 pieces of micro sculptures of “Story of Stone” made by famous artist Peng Zushu in ten years will be put on show. The organizing committee says that Peng has also planned to come to the site on the opening day to share his carving skills with his fans.
