The 02A of “Jilin-1” Satellites was launched successfully through KZ-1A at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 11:40 on November 13, 2019. The satellite entered its orbit as scheduled. Insiders say 02A can revisit Changchun City six times a day while sending back application data.

It is a new optical remote sensing satellite independently developed by Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., inheriting the mature technical foundation of “Jilin-1” Satellites which is able to obtain such images (panchromatic resolution, better than 0.75m; multispectral resolution, better than 3m; and width, bigger than 40km) with high-resolution, large-scale width and high-speed data transmission characteristics.

“After entering its orbit, 02A will be networked with the 13 previously launched counterparts. It can revisit the same area up to six times a day and provide richer remote sensing data and product services for the users in agriculture, forestry, resources, environment and other industries,” said Wei Shubo, Office Director of Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., adding, “It is the 7th launch of “Jilin-1” Satellites, and the 3rd one for this year.”

Compared with its previously launched counterparts, 02A features many technological “innovations”, which are mainly reflected by more advanced comprehensive technical indicators and faster data transmission.
