The first hydrogen-fueled bus in Jilin Province, which is also the latest achievement in counterpart cooperation between the provinces of Jilin and Zhejiang, rolled off product line in Yanji City Saturday morning on September 28, 2019.  

The bus, a result of years of research and development between automotive enterprises and Tongji University, features domestically leading integration technology for hydrogen fuel system and automotive control technology. Compared with a pure electric bus, it is more environmentally friendly, without exhausts of polluted particles but just pure water. 

According to Fu Qiutao, General Manager of Guotai Auto, the process of hydrogen-oxygen combination generates power for battery charging which in turn drives the motor. Simply, this is how it works, but we have to overcome a series of technical difficulties in order to create a vehicle that meets the market demand. There are two main points to be summarized here. The first is the control technology suitable for operation in cold areas, which belongs to ours, and the other one is the integration technology of hydrogen fuel system. 

Such technology was said to have been made mature for a productivity of 10,000 vehicles per year. In the meantime, a “hydrogen fuel energy chain” development model will be kick-started as a complete solution to Yanbian’s intelligent bus transportation.
