To further promote the exchanges in the field of sport between Changchun and Sendai, and to improve the management and competitive level of sports events of Changchun City, Changchun Foreign Affairs Office sent a 3-member delegation headed by Chen Guozhen, Vice Principal of Changchun Sports School to the Sendai International Half Marathon scheduled from 9 to 13 May 2019. The Sendai International Half Marathon is organized once a year. It’s been held for 29 sessions. This year, two athletes, one male and one female, competed in the event. Wei Yanan, a former world champion and retired athlete of Changchun City, and Li Youyi, a competitive middle-long distance runner of Changchun Sports School, won the third place of Men’s Group and Women’s Group with 1 hour, 26 minutes and 36 seconds and 1 hour, 14 minutes and 14 seconds respectively, the best result in recent years, thereby having won honor for Changchun City.
