In order to enhance friendship with more English-speaking African countries and deepen local cooperation between China and South Africa, my Office held the Friendly Exchange Video Meeting Between Changchun City and Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa on the afternoon of May 25, aiming to explore opportunities for cooperation between the two sides and lay the foundation for future friendly and cooperative relations between the two cities.

Director Xue Chunzhi delivered a speech, Deputy Director Ou Shuo presided over the meeting, and representatives from the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources and the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism attended the meeting. The two sides presented promotional videos of their own city, and Nelson Mandela Bay provided detailed introductions on its economic and trade, tourism, culture, and art, followed by a discussion on potential areas of cooperation.

Director Xue Chunzhi sincerely invited leaders of Nelson Mandela Bay to lead a delegation to visit Changchun, welcomed South African friends to invest and start businesses in Changchun, and took the opportunity to promote local cooperation between China and South Africa. Leaders of Nelson Mandela Bay expressed a strong desire to cooperate with Changchun and looked forward to the opportunity for an offline meeting with the leaders of Changchun to further discuss cooperation between the two cities.
