This year marks the 10th anniversary of the friendly city relationship between Changchun and Warrnambool, Australia. In order to further develop friendly relationship and deepen exchanges and cooperation, Changchun and Warrnambool jointly held the online celebration for the 10th anniversary of the friendship on March 22, 2022. The event is divided into two stages: the first stage is "Celebration Meeting for the 10th Anniversary of Changchun-Warrnambool friendship", and the second stage is "2023 Key Project Docking Meeting between the Two Cities".

In the first stage, Changchun said that by earnestly implementing Jilin Province's high-quality development strategy of "one pillar and six pairs", strengthening the responsibility of "one master" and focusing on the construction of Changchun's modern metropolitan area, it is implementing the "city linkage in six areas" of International Automobile City, Modern Agricultural City, Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Demonstration City, Scientific Innovation City, Emerging Consumption City, and Cultural Creativity City. In the future, by continuously deepening cultural and people-to-people exchanges, the two cities will promote the cooperation in economy and trade, cultural tourism, cross-border e-commerce, skilled personnel training and renewable energy development and utilization. Also, the two sides will jointly build a Changchun-Warrnambool SME trading platform to further expand the bilateral trade, which will inject momentum into the development of the foreign trade.

Warrnambool side said that Changchun's progress, development momentum and spirit of pursuing excellence in education, manufacturing and many other fields have left a deep impression on the councilors of Warrnambool who have been to Changchun over the past decade, and the 10th anniversary of the friendship between the two cities is an important milestone. By signing the Memorandum of Cooperation, the two sides will further maintain and strengthen the friendship and links between the two cities through joint consultation and discussion and common development.

At the meeting, representatives of the two cities officially signed the Changchun and Warrnambool Exchange Plan for 2023-2025 and Changchun and Warrnambool Framework Agreement on Joint Construction of SME Trade Platform, which lays a solid foundation for the future cooperation between the two cities.

In the second stage, Changchun Municipal Private Enterprise Association, Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce and CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. respectively made promotion and exchange on the joint construction of SME trade platform and Changchun's key high quality well-known goods and key cooperation projects.

Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Overseas and Ethnic Chinese Foreign Affairs Committee of Changchun Municipal People's Congress, Changchun Municipal Private Enterprise Association, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., Changchun Zhongshan Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. and other relevant units attended the event.
