On December 20, the Jilin Province Audi-FAW New Energy Vehicle Industrial Chain Investment Conference was held in Changchun. Representatives from 240 enterprises participated in the conference and signed 24 investment projects. Han Jun, deputy secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and governor of the province, attended the event and delivered a speech.

On behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Han Jun extended a welcome to the guests attending the conference and thanked friends from all sectors of society for their care and support for Jilin's revitalization and development. He said that at present, the province is thoroughly implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions, as well as the plans of the Central Economic Work Conference, giving full play to the leading role of FAW Group, making full use of its strength, shoring up weaknesses, improving the progressiveness, resilience and safety level of the auto industry chain, and promoting the high-quality development of the auto industry cluster. With the strong support of the state, the Audi FAW new energy vehicle project, a major landmark project of utilizing foreign investment, is under construction in Changchun, becoming Audi's first pure electric vehicle production base in China. The province is formulating relevant planning and industrial guidance policies, aiming to introduce more high-tech new energy supporting projects into Changchun and to drive the overall upgrading of its auto industry chain.

Han noted that relying on the building of the national advanced manufacturing cluster, the province will further develop the auto industry cluster, strengthen support and services for FAW, and speed up the coordinated development and comprehensive improvement of the vehicle production, auto parts and post market chains. First, in terms of technological innovation, the province will step up efforts in the research, development, promotion and application of cutting-edge technologies in the auto industry, accelerate the establishment of auto industry research institutes, national key laboratories, national auto technology innovation centers and industry-university-research institute cooperation platforms, create a collaborative innovation ecosystem, lead industrial transformation and upgrading with technological innovation, and strive to gain an upper hand in the auto industry development. Second, in terms of industrial chain layout, the province will create a full-chain auto business model, make more breakthroughs in core technologies in key fields, promote the implementation of high value-added auto parts projects in Changchun, and build a cluster of auto parts suppliers to improve the local supporting rate. Third, in terms of the business environment, the province will strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights and the legitimate rights and interests of foreign investors, continue to optimize electricity, land, credit and other factors, support the construction of supporting infrastructure for new energy vehicles, solve problems and do practical things for enterprises, and create favorable conditions for enterprises to invest and start businesses in the province. Han said that hopefully, entrepreneurs will seize the opportunities presented by the development of Jilin's auto industry, bring more investment projects to Changchun, jointly break new ground in win-win cooperation, and work together to support FAW to become a world-class auto enterprise and to encourage Changchun to build a world-class international auto city.
